Question about IMEI

so after backing up my IMEI and upgrading stuff, i noticed that it hadnt changed. anyway i downgraded back to GB, because i wanted to start fresh. after re-upgrading to 934 i tried to restore my IMEI backup but it has changed to another number and my restore doesnt change it... looking for some help or a solution. and what is the IMEI and is it bad if its another number/does it affect my phone in terms of people calling/txting me.

well i tried a restore on all my backups i made but none of them are the right IMEI number i had when i started... what do i do? is my phone screwed??

I had an issue where by my backup was on my sdcard and wasn't restoring. Turns out my phone was using internal storage at the time. Placing my 5irom backup on the internal storage worked. Maybe worth a look.

thats how I got my IMEI back, it stayed on 0. now its back to what it was before. :)

Yes..but you can not back to stock rom.You can but you not have operater bloatware! So you lose your warriantly!

i tried to do this but when typing in the * # * # 2846579 # * # * part all i got was a blank screen with "Testing" heading but nothing else?

trying to do it on Infusion rom

That menu was removed from infusion so you would have to flash a different rom to access it.

Ok just some things to think about:

Is your phone working? If so maybe you just haven't restarted your phone, which is required for your original IMEI to show up after you've restored it.

Do you have root?

Are you trying to restore your IMEI from GB to ICS or vice versa.

Are you trying to recover your IMEI on a custom rom.

These are all the things I can think of right now that may cause you problems. However try the easy stuff first, and be patient, before you go messing with you IMEI.

im stuck, i cant figure out this part "Close the Ports window and click on SPC.In DFS log must write UNLOCKED DEVICE."
