Guest todoleo Posted September 21, 2012 Report Posted September 21, 2012 The Facebook application for Android has just been updated with some much needed user interface and stability improvements. The big UI change is the new button in the upper right corner of the News Feed. This button shows which of your friends are available to message and shows who is on a mobile device as well. The actual messaging section of the application has been redisigned and has a new UI for conversations too. The News Feed also has new options to be sorted in the left hand side menu, so you can organise it around your "groups" (that's "circles" in Google Plus speak). As well as the UI changes, the update to the Facebook application brings stability improvements that allegedly improve security and reliability, fix bugs with multiple photo selections and push notifications. Let us know how you get on with the improved Facebook application in the comments below, as a comment to the link on the Facebook or on Google Plus. Guest Zarch1972 Posted September 21, 2012 Report Posted September 21, 2012 If they've added Push Notifications, why does it still allow you change the 'Refresh Interval' in the settings? Or is it Push for private messages/chat and still the old refresh for status updates? Don't know?!?
Guest Rusty! Posted September 21, 2012 Report Posted September 21, 2012 Push notifications have been there for ages, this is just bug fixes to them. I think the refresh applies to your friends statuses within the app/widget.
Guest todoleo Posted September 21, 2012 Report Posted September 21, 2012 I think Rusty! is right on this one!
Guest Zarch1972 Posted September 21, 2012 Report Posted September 21, 2012 Thanks guys, that makes sense. :)
