Guest glossywhite Posted September 22, 2012 Report Posted September 22, 2012 (edited) Hello! :-) I have the original AMOLED version of the San Francisco, the UK Orange one with 512Mb ram. It is the very dark grey (black?) version with the rubberised plastic, and is in *extremely* good condition, fully unlocked and working. What is this worth? Thank you :) Have a super day! Guest glossywhite Posted September 22, 2012 Report Posted September 22, 2012 (edited) Sold mine for thirty pounds back in March. That's you though, eh ;) I would prefer at least 60 this time around. I give a lot of my stuff away to people, as in the Bible, Mark 25 teaches: Generosity begets generosity. Stinginess impoverishes. This is SO true. Every time I have given things away, I have been blessed in return; let me give two amazing examples: ## Story 1 ## About 5 months ago, my Dad and I were dropping off my younger sister and her friends into town, to celebrate one of the girl's 18th Birthday. Something in my head just told me to give her a fiver - it was all the money I had (not with me, total!) but I thought it would be nice for her to have a drink, so I told her to enjoy herself and to celebrate! Anyhow, so we turn around and drive home. On the way, my Dad wanted to buy some sweeteners from the local Tesco Express, so I went in and asked if they sold them - they said no. Next, as I was searching for some chocolate, I saw a MASSIVE sack of food sitting in front of the self-service checkout, so I asked them "what are you doing with that food - is it being thrown out?" - the manager said Yes, but take it - ALL of it, we can't sell it (think: when do Tesco EVER do that? They don't). The bag was FULL of sandwiches, pies etc... but then I asked, jokingly "are those flowers going too?" - looking at a beautiful bunch of flowers, MINT condition, and to my shock he said "take those too". But beyond all belief, on TOP of this kindness, he told his worker to go into their staff office and get their PERSONAL staff supply of sweetners, and give me those TOO - and they do not sell those in that store! When I got in the car, and added all the food up, it came to around £40 - not to mention the flowers which I would guess were around £7. Mum was over the moon with the flowers, and the food fed us all and my sister and her friends the next day :D ## Story 2 ## About two weeks ago, I gave my friend an Orange "Bright Box" router - it was brand new. I made a call to Orange and changed my landline call plan, and they said "oh, we'll send you a Bright Box" - I told them I had had one, but they said to keep it anyway... and then... I came off the phone to Orange, and my friend called me "Matt, I have a box here for you - an Orange Bright Box which they sent me the other day, but I don't need it - do you want it?" - WOW! So I went and got it. As if that was not enough, a few days later my Bright Box arrived from Orange... then, two days later, ANOTHER one! I called them, and they said to keep it, even though I explained they had just sent me one (again). Woop! So, I then had THREE given back - ALL NEW, for ONE given away. Next, I went to my friend's the other day, and he handed me a San Francisco, and said "I want you to have this, as you are a good friend" - he has NEVER done that before! Blessings beget blessings - it may be slightly off-topic, but I had to share this :D Edited September 22, 2012 by glossywhite
Guest hecatae Posted September 22, 2012 Report Posted September 22, 2012 See I saw getting thirty from someone who is still using the device today better than taking my chance on ebay, also threw in a new charger, cable and new unused headset.
Guest Stuart_f Posted September 22, 2012 Report Posted September 22, 2012 I've also got a gen 1 AMOLED Blade but mine is more battered than tennis ball at Wimbledon. I still reckon that's worth 20-30 quid. If you get more than that for it please post in the thread so I can up my price! I quite fancy trading it in for a HTC One X+
Guest glossywhite Posted September 22, 2012 Report Posted September 22, 2012 (edited) Certainly worth more than £30 in the condition mine is in, almost mint. If two people happen to have sold theirs for £30, that doesn't set the market value, it just means they sold their particular ones very cheaply :) Considering how popular this handset is, and how hackable it is, I'd say that you've sold yourself short @ £30... unless it was to do a friend or family member a favour, in which case I commend you :) Edited September 22, 2012 by glossywhite

Guest tilal6991 Posted September 22, 2012 Report Posted September 22, 2012 Glossy Seeing as Tmobile Vivacities are being sold for £50, £30-40 sounds reasonable.

Where are you finding phones at these prices? My phone is broke/breaking, and I'm in the market for a replacement. I figured a year or two old android phone would be more affordable than they actually seem to be...
Guest glossywhite Posted September 26, 2012 Report Posted September 26, 2012 ~£40-45 if you are lucky on Ebay Someone managed £67 + delivery 300775510052 I'm never "lucky" - there is no such thing as "luck" - that's something humans conceived to make life appear as if it's a game of blackjack. God gives us blessings, not "fate" - if something is meant to be, he'll bless me and allow it to take place, whether good OR bad - even bad things are helpful to form one's character and test it in the fire! :)
Guest Roph Posted September 27, 2012 Report Posted September 27, 2012 (edited) Assuming it's been used since it was first bought in late 2010, OLED wear must already be pretty noticeable. Coupled with the fact that it's both low resolution AND pentile, I'm not sure what the benefit or "speciality" of an OLED blade is. £30 seems about right. You can pick up brand new 4" Huawei G300s with a 1Ghz ARMv7 MSM7227A for £45 from tesco with grocery deals, £60 without. Edited September 27, 2012 by Roph
Guest hugobosslives Posted September 27, 2012 Report Posted September 27, 2012 its all luck. i sold mine in feb for 50 quid. was in awful condition. scratched screen and dents in sides. not bad considering I bought it 17ish months before for 80quid brand new.
Guest awarner Posted September 30, 2012 Report Posted September 30, 2012 Recent posts have been removed. Please remember all sales must be via EBay and NOT let's trade and here's my EBay feedback etc.
Guest glossywhite Posted September 30, 2012 Report Posted September 30, 2012 (edited) We're not selling, we are swapping, and I've never seen a swapping category on fleabay. If two grown adults decide to put their mobiles in the post and do an exchange, both of them fully aware of the 'big bad world', I'm not sure I see the help in outside involvement ... trust and tolerance are great things.
