Guest mack_ Posted September 23, 2012 Report Posted September 23, 2012 i thought you might say that, i just neec a simple answer without going thought are the threads. You won't get help with an attitude like that, no one is here to spoon feed you.... so either you read the threads as suggested by wrtease or you buy an I phone
Guest droiddruid Posted September 23, 2012 Report Posted September 23, 2012 Buy an iPhone Such a simple statement yet so funny:)
Guest buddn07 Posted September 23, 2012 Report Posted September 23, 2012 Hi guys, I've just got a new phone and can't be bothered to read any threads in this forum at all. I'd much rather leech off the forum and ask someone else to do all the reading for me and explain how to do it. I'll probably blame someone else if it all goes wrong, but please tell me how to get to ics. Thanks.
Guest droiddruid Posted September 23, 2012 Report Posted September 23, 2012 (edited) But to do that you would have to read the reply. Unless someone replies with the information you claim to seek in which case you could ask another to read that reply then tell you what was said. Hmm but then you'd have to read that reply, unless of course someone else does that for you. Catch 22 don't you agree? :) Edited September 23, 2012 by droiddruid

Guest yaqh Posted September 23, 2012 Report Posted September 23, 2012 its abit confusing so many different roms which one is the best one to get, someone mentioned b888 gb is most stable out. is there a easy guide to follow.
Guest yaqh Posted September 23, 2012 Report Posted September 23, 2012 another quick question , if i mess up the install ics, is there a way of going back to my orignal vodaphone version.

If you want ICS, get tillaz's infusion rom as its fast, efficient and its getting updates a lot, like bug fixes and new features. He uses OTA updates too so it's really noob friendly!
Guest kyan31 Posted September 23, 2012 Report Posted September 23, 2012 another quick question , if i mess up the install ics, is there a way of going back to my orignal vodaphone version. Yeah, there are a few methods.
Guest yaqh Posted September 23, 2012 Report Posted September 23, 2012 which rom is the best for battery use?

Guest Davidoff59 Posted November 22, 2012 Report Posted November 22, 2012 yaqh, unfortunately when this forum opened, we all had to read the threads to get what we needed. We all learned together and some were kind enough to condense it all down into what are now the 'sticky threads' They did that so that users like you who don't want to read pages and pages of threads could have most of the info in one place. These people did this by reading the threads. I really do not know your intentions here but if its to flash roms for the G300, then your in the right place. Part of the fun of Android is flashing roms and finding one that's best for you. If your told do this and this and this and flash that, then we are doing ourselves and you a disservice as you will learn absolutely nothing and will not be able to help anyone else. There is no best rom so not getting an answer is a correct response. Each to their own and all that. We were all newbies once which is fair enough, they are well catered for here. We all had to read and learn to help ourselves. Do yourself a favour and do some reading. Follow the step by step guides as missing a step can lead to hugely time consuming 1 on 1 support. This leads us back to the start. Do some reading so that you know what to do if something goes wrong. 109808 baseband is Gingerbread base band 2030 baseband is ics baseband. To get the 2030 base and, you have to flash an official Huawei ics. There is no other way. A 2030 rom will work per say on a 109808 baseband, just that you won't be able to call anyone or use internet etc. I won't repeat any other info that is in the stickies
Guest Davidoff59 Posted November 22, 2012 Report Posted November 22, 2012 Regarding the various versions of each rom, most are based on stock Huawei ICS roms with each developer adding their own tweaks and features. Aosp aokp CM9 Paranoid Android to name a few itinerations of Android. Google releases aosp ICS, Huawei builds with that code, add their own code to 'improve' it and add operator specific restrictions/bloat and release to the end user. Its not built by Huawei to be fast but its built to have a balance of battery life and speed. Developers can then build their own rom, add bits, remove the bloat, add overclock and generally make it a lot better. Problems arise with proprietary code and proprietary drivers for things like the phone radio, screen, Bluetooth etc.As no source code is available, hacks need to sometimes be done to enable some functions to work. Then the phone manufacturer changes a component like the camera so different code is needed. This is why development takes time as a rom that may work perfectly for one user may only half work on another g300 as hardware has been changed.
