Guest mmace Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 OK, here's what I need the alarm for: I don't have an alarm clock (and half the time I stop at my fiancée's flat so even if i did have one it wouldn't be much use when I'm there), I get up at different times each day (so it's no good setting a reccuring apointment). for some reason, 9 times out of 10 the alarm doesn't make a sound or vibrate, the other 10% of the time it woks fine. The times when it doesn't make a noise it has a message on the screen saying: Reminder: Alarm. I don't have the phone on silent, this is really annoying me (I was late for work this morning because of it). Please help me
Guest Dylan Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 I have the same problem! No matter how loud I set the sound and whatever sound I set as my alarm it NEVER wakes me. It's also a pain that it doesn't have a snooze function. It just makes the noise once and that's it! I used to rely on my Nokia to wake me every morning as it had an excellent alarm. I sent a text to Orange 2473 but I notice it's not on their Feedback answers! If anyone does have any ideas then it would be great to hear them! Dyl
Guest mmace Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 it's not that I don't hear it, I have "kyles mum's a b**ch" on full blast so it's hard not to hear that! my problem is that no sound comes out at all 90% of the time (a slight noise wakes mt so even if it made a quiet beep it would wake me)
Guest midnight Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 errrr, i have no probs and it does have snooze, starts again after 5 mins. Dylan, do you have the alarm ring type set to 'increasing'? cos that should repeat, starts quite and gets louder with every repeat of the tone, if its a wav tho it just plays full volume i think. as for it not playing, dunno, maybe hard reset time, cos mine has never failed
Guest jhew Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 I used to have this prob. The alarm screen would display, but there was no sound. Since installing the O update it seems to be ok, and I've not had any probs (touch wood). One trick u may wanna try..... When you're in the date & time settings screen, make sure you back out completely to the home screen by using the left softkey, and not just hitting the home key once you've turned the alarm on. This seemed to work for me (most of the time but not always) pre update.
Guest Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 Mine does sound OK, don't get that problem, but since it only makes a noise once, it's useless for me. It's so bad I don't even bother any more, and have to use my work Nokia to wake me up instead.
Guest midnight Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 it makes the noise once?????? no comprendez (or somethin hehe), seriously, it should look, check yer sound settings that the alarm sound is set to 'increasing', if that fails, there is a loop tweak on my site  hell, you can even have the alarm, vibrate for 3 seconds, then repeatedly loop a midi file while getting louder and louder and virating constantly (in fact, if you remove the wait from the tone its mental, enough to wake anyone up) if someone wants a laugh try this reg value data: v3w3c50apv0c150r seems to work best with a shortish midi file
Guest midnight Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 its simple, it does repeat, it does have snooze, and ramp up a wav file and its EASILY loud enough (my next door neighbours even commented on it), 10x better than any nookie-a
Guest neilg Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 need to make sure you dont have the phone on Automatic profile as this will turn your phone to silent every time you have a meeting booked which i think is what used to screw up my alarm when i had an all day appointment synced from outlook. PS Midnight Chorlton was the business.
