Guest Paul [MVP] Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 Now that's pretty darned cheap... £69.99 for both upgrade and new connections! P
Guest mcwarre Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 £69.99. Thats got nothing to do with trying to get rid of SPV stock prior to the Tanager release. Especially attractive as O has increased / is increasing prices of contract handsets to offset some OFTEL enforced call price reductions...........
Guest iliketoparty Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 I got mine for £49.99 minus 20 quid for a trade in of my dear old T68 from orange last monday...had to agree to take a your plan 120 or higher package, with the package being over 55 a month...but can reduce it after 2 months! Plus I got a Monsters Inc DVD off them!!! My phone had the old OS, tried to upgrade, didn't work, got stuck on the lovely sun screen, and got a complete replacement of handset and accessories yesterday. So have a spare cradle, card etc...everything but a spare phone, battery, and camera!!! Party
Guest mcwarre Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 Party, Stick em on eBay. I got about £70 in total. Hey a free SPV. Beat that!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Guest mcfc2134 Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 I got a free SPV too! Can't complain!
Guest Emad Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 I see they're also giving the SL42 for free on any contract - another quality phone for people.. True, it does seem like they're clearing stock. I got mine for free back in December - well worth it at the price, hehe..
Guest casper508 Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 I got mine for £49.99 minus 20 quid for a trade in of my dear old T68 £79.99 for the SPV and sold the T68 for £195 off ebay! Thats a good few months line rental. Beat that  Cas
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 That's a damn low RRP... Does make me wonder how close the SPVx is... P
Guest mcwarre Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 Cas, That's nothing. I got mine free with a lovely blonde haired blue eyed virgin thrown in. Bloody luxury. ;) :(
Guest vijay555 Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 mcwarre mate, did you have to unlock her? Mine crashes every time i try to turn her on, but after i nip to the bathroom for a while, i find that i've had a hard-reset  V
Guest casper508 Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 mcwarre got the lovely blonde, not me ;) Too many hard-resets could kill ya u know :D Cas
Guest midnight Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 thats cos yer supposed to soft reset, not hard reset, i dunno...newbies
Guest vijay555 Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 Cas, i had to have my eyes lasered - i was going blind. What does that say about the hard-resets?! V
Guest casper508 Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 i was going blind. See, hard resets have already started taking effect  ;) Back to the topic now shall we?? Cas
Guest Hax Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 "]That's a damn low RRP... Does make me wonder how close the SPVx is... P Just saw this little snippet As soon as Smart Phones Online receives stock of the new SPVx we will call you to arrange an order. Currently 5th May 2003 on SmartPhone's SPVx preorder page So, looks like the SPVx is getting really close to being released now - but does look like more May than April. Of course, I could be reading more into this date than I should  Hax
Guest spacemonkey Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 If Orange says 5 May then that's it, I expect Modaco to be going crazy on 5 May with complaints about Orange not supplying the phone yet  I'd read that as July if your lucky, but I'm a little cynical
Guest Hax Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 Now I didn't say that Orange said 5th May - that's just a quote from the SmartPhone website! Indeed, the quote itself doesn't explicitly say 5th May for the SPVx release, just hints towards it! And of course, that's a bank holiday here in the UK! So who knows  Hax
Guest Coolboy1982 Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 I got mine free, too, but obviously not from the orange website. However that pricedrop at orange's site is in direct contradiction to the announced rises in prices this month!
Guest vijay555 Posted April 11, 2003 Report Posted April 11, 2003 Coolboy1982, where did you get yours from? a free SPV over a £150ish SPVx sounds quite attractive... V
Guest Coolboy1982 Posted April 11, 2003 Report Posted April 11, 2003 Coolboy1982, where did you get yours from? a free SPV over a £150ish SPVx sounds quite attractive... V I got it from mobiles.co.uk, but it is more expensive there now... Anyway I had the choice there for 60 pound on a 15 pound contract or for free on a 30 pound contract (which after 4 months can be downgraded to a 15 pound one). So Idecided to spend these same 60 pound rather on extra call time for the first few months than for the phone...
Guest Emad Posted April 11, 2003 Report Posted April 11, 2003 Ahh, my 4 month period is up next week.. Yay, contract downgrade
Guest Hax Posted April 11, 2003 Report Posted April 11, 2003 Hee-hee, got mind for free on a £25 a month contract, plus the six quid SPV package. Four month on change period is up now so must remember to change this weekend! Hax

Hax which shop was that? after ages of research on the web I thought mobiles.co.uk was the best deal with free on 30 per month at that time... EDIT - On second thoughts though, I really did make good use of those 200 inclusive minutes I got for the 30 quid each months... Will be really hard to get used to 30 minutes later...
