sometimes in the past when i put the headset on, to either hear to some music or to speak on via the headset, the profile go stuck in headset mode, and it did not change ack automatically to normal when i took it off, the weird thing is that it didnt change back manualy either. Anyway, every revius time i managed to fix it by replacing the battery and other weid stuff. This last time it didnt turn back, even though i tried everything, it has been stuck to headset for the past almost 48 hours, i cant tell when somebody is calling me, since it doesnt vibrate nr makes loud sound, i cant hear the other person if i dont have the headset on and i cant talk without the headset, basically the phone is badword!!!

Does anybody with the same problem have a solution?

definitely read about this one somewhere. Apparently most common when using a 3.5 > 2.5mm convertor. Try wiggling the jack around or using a matchstick, as mentioned.

Changing to an Orange homescreen layout then back to your original one is also reported to work.

I had my first SPV replaced because of this problem, and if blowing air into the headset jack fixed it for you then it is a hardware fault and your socket is probably on the way out. Either don't use the headset, and be very gentle when you do, or just get a replacement from Orange! Pushing down hard on the lower part of the jack with my thumbnail fixed this issue temporarily for me!

I think the problem is that the switch inside the jack (which controls headset mode) is a poor design, and easy to bend, so if you put too much force on it with the plug it gets stuck in the "on" position. Because the 2.5-3.5mm adaptor is quite big it acts as a lever and puts even more force on the jack when it gets bent, and that's why many people blame these adaptors for their SPVs failing. How easy it is to fix depends on how much you bent it! I finally ditched my giant 2.5-3.5mm adaptor today, and soldered some decent Sony earphones to the standard headset instead, so I can use that for mp3s, becuase I don't really want to trash SPV #2 for the same reason as my first one!
