Guest Basicly Posted September 29, 2012 Report Posted September 29, 2012 Called orange just now on 0800 801080 . Went through the menu and picked the damaged option. Gave them the phone on the receipt that came with the phone(I bought it from the original owner on-line). Told the guy my first name and that i didn't remember the 4 digit code. They asked when the last time i topped up was and i said that it had been months(as I've had the phone that long and use 3) Said that the mic is quiet and ear piece is crackly. They said they would send a replacement tomorrow and trade for my current one. That being said.... do you think I need to put the stock rom back on it? Would they be able to bill me otherwise? they only have my first name and my address.. What do you guys think? Might be best to do just incase the new one is faulty I guess..... Opinions? Courier is coming tomorrow morning.
Guest C3C0 Posted September 29, 2012 Report Posted September 29, 2012 My opinion: time you spent writing this topic could be used to restore stock rom. ;)
Guest Basicly Posted September 29, 2012 Report Posted September 29, 2012 Hi C3C0, I did try to do this last night... I've currently on CWM 4.0.1.4 and Ice Armour III. I DL'ed http://www.modaco.com/topic/346977-what-have-i-just-downloaded-from-ztes-site/ this last night. I tried to install from a zip.. it told me that it was invalid.. but it sounds like i need to do a restore. I've tried putting it in the restore folder in CWM so that it can restore to that... It doesn't show it. So could I try to "install zip from sdcard"? Or could I try to do "apply update from sdcard"? I'm not sure what to do and I dont want to brick my phone. Thanks
Guest C3C0 Posted September 29, 2012 Report Posted September 29, 2012 The image in the link above is a TPT one. So should be installed like this: 1) put the image.bin inside "image" folder under root of your sd card 2) power off your phone 3) press and hold middle key, volume+ key and power on while holding them. Wait for the flash to complete. It will reboot automatically.
