Guest dbaseii Posted September 30, 2012 Report Posted September 30, 2012 Hi Guys I am not recieving a notification sound when a new email arrives. I have checked settings and the notification sound is ticked. I have tried different roms with no luck. At the moment I'm on the latest Infusion. Any ideas. This is annoying the hell out of me Thanks
Guest Jeff Mora Posted September 30, 2012 Report Posted September 30, 2012 Same thing here in Costa Rica. NO notifications at all.
Guest dbaseii Posted September 30, 2012 Report Posted September 30, 2012 I'm starting to think that it's a Google/account problem. Can someone give me a link to show me my android devices
Guest Rico_89 Posted October 1, 2012 Report Posted October 1, 2012 I have found the Gmail app pretty unreliable myself so I use K9 instead. You can sign all your different email accounts into it and set different colours for each account, even different led colours. Also you can set it to poll for new mail at any time interval that fits in with your data plan or the way you use your phone. If you can't get any joy with Gmail then try it out and see.
Guest palec69 Posted October 1, 2012 Report Posted October 1, 2012 had something similar, i removed the gmail account and added it again, worked for me ;)
Guest corsicanu3333 Posted October 1, 2012 Report Posted October 1, 2012 (edited) I tried everithing, I deleted and recreated gmail account, i stopped and started 'Acount & sync', i restarted the phone. After all of these with gmail app usually i got new email alert after 2 minutes. Lucky for me that MailDroid is working perfect. In Maildroid i am getting alerts in 15 seconds. With all of these i am still looking for a solution to fix Gmail app because in theory, Gmail app should use Google 'push' services and it's meaning that Gmail app should use less power. Guest Rico_89 Posted October 2, 2012 Report Posted October 2, 2012 (edited) K9 not working either Did you change the poll frequency from none? Change the poll frequency for all your email accounts added to K9 to 1 minute and then watch them update to make sure your setting are correct. After that you can change it to what ever you want. Guest dbaseii Posted October 5, 2012 Report Posted October 5, 2012 As an update. I dug out my old Smart 858 and setup the same gmail account. No email notifications. So it looks like a google issue. So how does one fix this?
