I recently reverted to GB using the IMEI method to downgrade to B885 official UK after which my phone updated to B892 by OTA. Since the OTA I have been having trouble connecting to wi-fi networks, basically I enter the WPA passkey and it starts to connect then displays 'Obtaining IP address from...' then goes back to 'Scanning...'.

If I manually enter a static IP address then everything connects just fine but that's a pain as the IP range is different at work and at home (and useless for other networks where I don't know the relevant IP details). It appears that the OTA update to B892 has broken DHCP on my phone.

I'd like to stick with B892 for now but I'd appreciate any suggestions how I might fix the broken wi-fi (the wi-fi was not broken on B885 as the OTA update was done over wi-fi).

I also have the ascending ringer volume issue with no way of switching off the ascending mode (setting does not exist in B892) so it might be worth reverting to B885 again if there's a simple way to do this as it might solve both issues.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Hmm, weird.. my phone worked fine with stock 885 and then with OTA update to 892, didn't have any of the issues you described.... I'm now on the B936 english (got it before it was pulled) and everything works fine. I'm not en expert in any way shape or form, but if it was me I'd do a factory reset and try again in case you had some leftover issues with your previous rom

Thanks but it didn't work.

I assume my OTA went wrong as nobody else seems to have this exact problem.

Just deciding whether to try downgrading again to B885 and letting it OTA again to B892 or just to forget GB and go back to ICS.

Is that the problem with all spots, or have you tried only one?
