Certain sound I cannot kill

There is one sound on my phone that I can't seem to kill! Even in Silent mode this lil bugger annoys the c.... out of me!

It appears when choosing certain menues .. and when inputting a name/contact when writing an sms. Which I freaquently wanna do in class .. but alas.

Is there any way of killing this sound for good!?

sorry, not a lot you can do apart from turn fown the sound of yer phone with the volume buttons.

It seems as tho that sound is written into the sms app (a bit of a screw up on microsofts part methinks), and isnt part of the system registry. However, you could add contacts by going into menu>Add To: and that way it doesnt make a sound in silent mode.

There's another way to avoid it. I've noticed that it happens when you open a menu that has an right-arrow indicating more options. When you click on the "arrowed" option to open up the new menu, that's when you get the sound.

Press right instead. No sound.

There's still a couple of places that still make the sound (e.g. SMS), but it's better than nothing.

hehe, i didnt know that, i always pressed right, so never noticed it make the 'dink' sound on menu options :wink:

still, like you said, aint relevant for sms i'm afraid, personally i always use the Add To: method, originally i didnt understand what people meant by the sound on choosing an sms contact, which makes me beleive that pressing action in the sms To: box isnt the correct way of add ing a contact anyway. (the 'dink' sound seems more of an error sound than anything)
