Guest RMDrive Posted October 3, 2012 Report Posted October 3, 2012 Hi. Followed the brilliant instructions in the "Explained like you're 5"thread to root, install cwm and install ICS. Was happy with my setup at that point but the phone occasionally rebooted by itself. This happened a couple of times a day. So a few days ago I decided to see if another rom would fix this problem and I installed B940 from the "[iCS] [REPACK] [4.0.3] B940 U8815 OTA release [ROM]" thread. And now wifi will not switch on! The phone says "Turning WiFi on ..." but it never turns on. I've downloaded and flashed a couple of other ICS roms but they have the same problems (both the wifi and reboot problems). I have used cwm in all cases and I've wiped the cache as well as the data before installing but it hasn't made any difference. Any ideas? Cheers.
Guest Redflake Posted October 3, 2012 Report Posted October 3, 2012 In cwm format system then install b940 again.
Guest fr0do Posted October 3, 2012 Report Posted October 3, 2012 (edited) Had the exact same thing. Do a factory wipe from cwm, pull the battery for at least a minute, re flash rom. Edited October 3, 2012 by fr0do
Guest RMDrive Posted October 4, 2012 Report Posted October 4, 2012 Thanks for the suggestions. I presume that the "wipe data/factory reset" option in cwm is the same as formatting the system? I have wiped it again again and pulled the battery after the wipe. I've left it for ~30 min and then installed B940 again via cwm. I'm still having the same problems though. Am I performing the wipe correctly? Any other things I can try? Thanks.
Guest tcpaulh Posted October 4, 2012 Report Posted October 4, 2012 No, that's different. Try mounts and storage
Guest RMDrive Posted October 4, 2012 Report Posted October 4, 2012 Wifi working again :D Phone still rebooting randomly  It happens whether I using it or not, whether it's locked or now, whether it's in my pocket on on my desk ..... No real pattern that I can make out. Could it be a harware problem?
Guest fr0do Posted October 4, 2012 Report Posted October 4, 2012 It might be the underlying code not replaced by the repack version. You could try one of tillaz' RIL patches to fix that.
