Guest mcwarre Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 "Imagine being able to work on your Microsoft Word documents on the road, keeping content and all formatting intact. Imagine having a full-fledged word processor right on your Windows CE machine, with on-the-fly spell-checking, extensive text formatting capabilities, drawing, outlining, tables, footnotes, and, most importantly, lossless roundtrip conversion of your Microsoft Word documents." http://www.softmaker.de/freedown.htm They are giving away 5000 copies. I will try it out and provide feedback. (Oh, it is 14MB BTW; who cares when you have Broadband!!!) 8) 8) 8) 8)
Guest Pinnacle Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 Just to let you know, the free copies of TextMaker are the PC-compatible variety...not TextMaker for Pocket PC. Also, TextMaker for Pocket PC is just that...a port to the Pocket PC. There is still no MS Word viewing/editing word processor available for Smartphone.
Guest mcwarre Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 Get a 30 free PocketPC trial. So at least can see if it is worthwhile.
Guest Richie M Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 There is still no MS Word viewing/editing word processor available for Smartphone. Theres RepliGo   not out for a couple of weeks - but if you got the Beta ;)
Guest Pinnacle Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 Hey, it will be great to at least view docs with Repligo, but there is still no editing capabilities. It would be nice to someday be able to get a Word doc attachment on my SPV, edit it, and email it back...same with Excel spreadsheets. :!:
Guest mcwarre Posted April 10, 2003 Report Posted April 10, 2003 Anyone tried using Orneta Notepad and rename the saved file (.doc). This will be viewed as a word doc (I think, I'll try it). Obviously no Word functionality except text. On second thoughts why bother??????
