Guest jaapstreepjan Posted October 8, 2012 Report Posted October 8, 2012 How to root the Acer Liquid Gallant (single&duo) Tested &confirmed working on Windows XP (should work on all windows based computers Your warranty is now void. I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Download and install the required drivers From Acerhttp://global-downlo...Acer&SC=EMEA_27Or my Google Drive mirrorhttps://drive.google...N19aaDNkSGtaelU(plug your phone in your pc and windows will ask for drivers. then install the drivers you've just downloaded)Reboot your PCDownload and Extract https://drive.google...WE90UVk3c1EyVU0 [*]Connect your phone to your pc with the provided USB cable. [*]Run the "Runme.bat" , choose normal mode and follow the instructions. [Note] You won't lose any data when you click the restore option on your phone, during the root process [*]Your device will reboot, and after the reboot the acer will be fully rooted :D ProTip: Download Rom Toolbox and change the cpu governor to On Demand. This will save some battery (The default Cpu governor is Performance) If you want to update via OTA update center, then disable supersu (in supersu settings) and root your phone again
Guest jaapstreepjan Posted October 8, 2012 Report Posted October 8, 2012 I'm working on a CWM recovery for this device. But i need some testers. Anyone interested?
Guest albe.minimal Posted October 8, 2012 Report Posted October 8, 2012 Yes!!!! More people are interested... OFFTOPIC: I read on XDA that you use V6 and kickass... The improvements are important? Can you link me a guide that you follow to configure these script? thanks man ;)
Guest jaapstreepjan Posted October 10, 2012 Report Posted October 10, 2012 CWM doesn't want to boot. will investigate further. Kickass kernel improves the phone a lot. but the v6 supercharger doesn't. because V6 is just a alternative Ram management tool, but you don't need that when you already have 1 gig of Ram. here is a link to the kickass kernelizer (and a few other things -.^ ) : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18703418&postcount=5021
Guest acerduo Posted October 11, 2012 Report Posted October 11, 2012 ProTip: Download Rom Toolbox and change the cpu governor to On Demand. This will save some battery (The default Cpu governor is Performance) So the "rooting manual" works, thanks. But on my device, "Rom Toolbox" in general and cpu governor "ondemand" in detail are very unstable. Some system crashes, so I uninstalled Rom Toolbox. Regards, ad

Regards, ad more people set ondemand without problem...i try more apk to set the governor and always get crash and reboot... After more test i find an half solution: with SETCPU i set ondemand max 1000 min 500 without problem! if i set the min frequency at minus i have crash, it's strange! My phone don't support underclock?!?!?! try my frequency
