I notice in many my contacts II have a space after the number. It does not make any difference/problem when dialling the phone. My phone is ok and usually makes correct entries, but PC Outlook seems to add a space after some numbers. I have a feeling that this causes some errors during Sync, since most of my 'wrongly synced' contacts have that space. Though some of those do not, and some that Sync fine do have a space. Anyone with same prob? Any thoughts?

I have this program called "outlook contact reformatter"

I got in a earlier post, way..... back

Sorry i do not remember it, but try a search.

The app gives you the possibility to format all contacts and then you can sync them to your phone without spaces. Worked great for me after some time.

good luck

No no no!! I am not doubleposting... It is actually a space AFTER the full number!

It is not this:

takes +44 and places a space between it and the phone number

PS: Or does Paul's program remove that space too??

I have actually no problem with the telephony aspect with numbers including that space, though I have a feeling it results in Syncing probs some time..

P, would be happy to have a go with the reformatter if it's not much hassle... By the way, it accesses the database, right? Is there any way you can access 'timestamps' (or whatever it is) that tells AS what entries to sync?? Also, is it possible to 'reindex/rebuild' the database (it seems to go a bit messy sometime, especially when moving appointments from one day to another..)?

Right, I'm having the same problem madukranian is in that all my phone numbers in my contacts list have a space AFTER the number

e.g. _ to signify a space ;)

+447777123123_

instead of

+447777123123

After changing my regional settings on my PC to "Wallis and Futuna" (wherever that is - tried other less exotic places too in case number length was an issue) the space between +44 and the number has been fixed, but it appears Outlook 2002/XP likes to keep a space AFTER the number. I have tried syncing then manually removing the space after the number from the phone THEN trying to call that contact - no luck either!! Something is wrong..

anyway, I am unable to make ANY calls to other mobiles whatsoever from my contacts.

Any ideas? I have a feeling it could be to do with the the length of the phone number as landlines sometimes work... the test I do to check that it's not just Network Busy is I phone it a few times (5 or so) then try answerphone & 150 straight after, they're usually fine :) :D

Pulling my hair out here... any help appreciated!

oops... possibly the most ignorant mistake ever

All working now... YAY!

(the search & replace that I had implemented in CSV before re-importing had stripped the first 7 off the numbers I had been trying - hence landline working ok...)

A 100% working SPV! brilliant! And the reception is ok now too since replacement handset came today! sweet!
