My battery has been lasting hardly couple of hours for the last few days. Havent got insurance (laziness) so the Manufacturers Warranty applies.

I called up orange and they gave me the HTC UK number. Shall call em up in the morning but has anyone made a claim with HTC?

Whats their service like and how long does it take to get a replacement?

Hey,

I ordered mine from a web company yeh - not Orange. Now if I need to make a claim is it Orange I phone or the net company? The tariff is with Orange so I'm hopefully right in guessing Orange lol :? ???

While you're talking to them, see if you can source some new plastic fascias, so that those of us who damage them trying to remove dust can replace them!

I bought mine from the web company but all my dealings have been with orange ever since.

Ok just got off the phone to HTC. They just wont take my word and send a replacement battery. Infact they'll be sending me a prepaid envelope so I could send the phone. Standard procedure I guess.

It takes 4-5 working days to get the tests done and find the fault. Worst of all, I'll loose all my data , its the games (boxy pocked in particular) im worried about otherwise everthing is backed up.

Backup IPSM to a sd card before sending it in (if you have the new bootloader you'll have to use USBTerm)

Then you won't lose anything.

I presume their standard procedure will be flash the ROM and hard reset the phone before starting testing to make sure it's a genuine hardware problem and not something you've cocked up with software. (Which is a sensible approach)

I was hopeing to avoid that but it seems I'll have to nick my brother's MMC.

No, he got it as a freebie from Microsoft for being the wonderful guy he is. Oh, and being an MVP as well.
