Mobile internet problem: Please help?

Hi everyone,

I recently got the g300 and rooted. I then installed the stock ics rom from Vodaphone. I am using a Talkmobile sim and phone signal is great. When I entered the settings for mobile internet off the Talkmobile website, it seemed to work fine. I had 3 bars of connectivity, but loading is incredibly slow and often times out. I know this is not bad signal in my area as the signal was speedy with my previous phone (nokia lumia 710). The difference in speed just seems to great for it to be a hardware difference. If there are any settings I could change or ideas, please share. I am new to android devices so don't have any background knowledge.

Extra info: I am using a micro-sim in the standard sim slot. I don't know whether this makes a difference. I assume not as my normal signal is great.
