Guest hecatae Posted October 16, 2012 Report Posted October 16, 2012 Click, click, click, click, have you seen the advert? Microsoft has now unveiled the pricing for both of its ARM-based Surface RT tablets and then promptly pulled the information, but fear not, we have it here! The Surface, with it's 10.6-inch display powered by Windows RT, is due to arrive on October 26th 2012 and will be priced in the US as follows... $499 for the 32GB version without Touch Cover$599 for the 32GB version with the Touch Cover$699 for the 64GB model with a Touch Cover included Over in Germany, the pricing is... €479 for the 32GB version without Touch Cover€579 for the 32GB version with the Touch Cover€679 for the 64GB model with a Touch Cover included It's nice to see Microsoft not doing an Apple, by not replacing $ signs with € or £ signs. The 9.3mm thin tablet weighs just 1.5lbs (685g) and includes a built-in kickstand and vapor-deposited (PVD) magnesium case. [Via: Microsoft Online Store] Click here to view the item
Guest hecatae Posted October 16, 2012 Report Posted October 16, 2012 United Kingdom site is online, http://www.microsoft.com/surface/en-GB £399 for a Microsoft Surface without Touch Cover, £479 with, and £559 for the 64GB version with an included Touch Cover.
Guest dgcorp Posted October 16, 2012 Report Posted October 16, 2012 Shame the $199 rumours were so far off base. OKay, that was always extremely unlikely. I would have been tempted at £250-300 for the touch-cover version, but £480 is way too much.
Guest dr_nick Posted October 16, 2012 Report Posted October 16, 2012 wants one (but has just bought an ultrabook and already has a functional tablet (vega running ICS)
Guest hecatae Posted October 17, 2012 Report Posted October 17, 2012 on the US site, the cheapest version is now on a 3 weeks pre-order, maybe first shipment sold out?
