Guest TestSpecimen. Posted October 30, 2012 Report Posted October 30, 2012 (edited) Don't know whether anyone noticed but there is a new stock keyboard that has new features, one of which being that it can be used just like swype... Anyway if your interested give it a go: http://www.mediafire...p8nh3z49ctv1zm9 Just a note: the website I got the link from states that this is probably an early build and not the final one that is on the new nexus, but it seems to work just fine. Guest grizzlyflea Posted October 31, 2012 Report Posted October 31, 2012 I can't seem to use those swype features I'm on infusion
Guest jontylol Posted October 31, 2012 Report Posted October 31, 2012 Working in ICS for me. Seems pretty good, if a bit rough and ready. But it's apparently not a final version so that's to be expected...
Guest TangerineTractor Posted October 31, 2012 Report Posted October 31, 2012 Installs and works as a standard keyboard but no sliding working, even though the option is enabled in settings, on a 944 ICS ROM. Having said that, if you want a slide keyboard, just install swype beta. Nothings quicker or more accurate, and it works fine as a normal keyboard too, unlike others like slideit which seem to want to be one or the other.
Guest jsevi83 Posted October 31, 2012 Report Posted October 31, 2012 TouchPal v5 also works great for me
Guest lexroad Posted October 31, 2012 Report Posted October 31, 2012 there's nothing like swiftkey though...
Guest peterck Posted November 2, 2012 Report Posted November 2, 2012 grizzlyfl, me too swype is not working for me. is it working for any one
Guest b4da55 Posted November 2, 2012 Report Posted November 2, 2012 No swype here but loving the camera
Guest peterck Posted November 2, 2012 Report Posted November 2, 2012 so swpye on android keyboard 4.2 is not working for any one that suck :( .
Guest sanjay.thomas Posted November 2, 2012 Report Posted November 2, 2012 The newer version of the app has been posted here. Check out the page: http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/11/02/official-android-4-2-keyboard-and-new-clock-app-pulled-from-system-dump-and-ported-to-4-04-1/
Guest jsevi83 Posted November 2, 2012 Report Posted November 2, 2012 Swype is working great here, but no camera  Using the latest version posted by sanjay.thomas
Guest sanjay.thomas Posted November 3, 2012 Report Posted November 3, 2012 That's funny cause its still not working for me. It installed fine but when I try to swype it force closes. The keyboard works fine otherwise. Can you explain what you did jsevi83?
Guest jsevi83 Posted November 3, 2012 Report Posted November 3, 2012 I flashed this: http://d-h.st/qxT I'm using CM9 test build from the 18th of october. Maybe that's why keyboard works and camera doesn't. I didn't do anything special, just flashed from CWM.
Guest sanjay.thomas Posted November 3, 2012 Report Posted November 3, 2012 Hmmm I flashed the same file. Maybe it's got to do with the fact that I'm on Infusion ROM. Any idea why this might not work on Infusion? Can someone tell me how to debug it so that I can identify the reason. Btw camera works fine for me. Photo sphere works after changing build.proc details to match that of Nexus but it's so dreadfully slow that it's not usable.
Guest sanjay.thomas Posted November 4, 2012 Report Posted November 4, 2012 Would really love it if anyone could identify the problem with the 4.2 keyboard or at least tell me how to go about identifying the problem. I had to uninstall Swype because it was too much of a resource hog. The speed of my phone had greatly increased after uninstalling it. But I really miss using gesture based input because its so much faster.
Guest PandaThing Posted November 11, 2012 Report Posted November 11, 2012 And devs have any plans on integrating this keyboard into their ROM's?
