What Generation ROM Should I be using?

Recommended Posts

I have a European 512MB Orange San Francisco which was Gen 1 when I bought it up then upgraded it to Gen 2, so I'm not sure which ROM's I can and can't install without bricking my phone

I used Blade Checker App and it says

European Blade (512MB RAM) Detected

TPT Upgraded Gen 2 Phone Detected

Use Gen 1 Style TPTs

System: 160MB

Data: 294MB

Cache 2MB

However Mr PigFish says

You Have a Gen2 model (sold with Android 2.2)

So I'm not really sure what I should be using Gen1 or Gen 2 ROMs?

Surely GEN2 ROMs, like both of the apps say :-)

Exactly as it says you should use gen1 style tpt's but unless you go back to gen1 with a tpt you want gen2 ROMs.

IOW if you use CWM recovery to install a ROM you want a gen2 ROM.

Use Gen 1 Style TPTs...

If you again use TPT while installing ROM then and then only use gen 1 style TPTs.

In all other cases use Gen 2, like installing ROM via CWM.
