Phone wont update

I installed the vodafone update and didnt like it so i downgraded using the method down to GB, and it worked perfectly but then after seeing people saying the update worked good for them (no bugs e.g dictionary,caller id etc) i decided to try again but but after downloading the update abd it asking me to backup i clicked install, it restarted and did the screen with the android and the yellow text but it then restarted and loaded gingerbread (the same one i was using), i tried downloading again and after pressing install now it didnt even show the android and yellow text it jsut restarted and loaded gingerbread. any help would be appreciated

edit fixed a long time ago, used force update, how do i close threads?
