Hi,find on HUKD this low priced handset.Low end?I dont know-it has 1ghz cpu Broadcomm 21552G http://www.broadcom.com/press/release.php?id=s638212 and 512mb RAM and ROM, 3,5" TFT display with HVGA 320x480, 3.2mpx camera(camera+HVGA is the low end I think),Bluetooth v3,WIFI b/g/n...And its only for 39.95£!

I just ordered one on Friday for a nephew and its looks like a decent phone for me. It has even a better processor than my Orange Monte Carlo. Anyway, I think the main problem with it now, is the unlocking. I couldn't find a way to unlock it for free by now.

i now have su installed. but tried running terminal commands, but its not working....

terminal works via an app i'm using...."android hackers"!

rooted mine, can't remember which link i got the stuff to root it with, it was a simple thing to do. making it sim-free is now possible with some direct unlock (usb) software, no unlock code generator is available yet. We just need someone to create a custom rom with stock android 2.3.7 instead of the widgets and junk alcatel put on it, especially their horrible keyboard. If we can create a clean stock image without the junk we'll have a lot more free space.

Any news to unlock?only o2 can unlock it or is there any option( buy on ebay,street shop etc.)to get unlock code?I plan to get the phone from UK in the end of january,so... :)

a few paid programs can unlock it via usb, nothing can generate unlock codes for it. o2 can unlock it if you get a 1 month contract i've heard.

Use the following command to set up your build environment:

lunch full_ot983-eng

And use the follwowing command to build a recovery:

. build/tools/device/makerecoveries.sh full_ot983-eng

Hi hecatae, I tried the online clockwork builder when I first got this phone but it failed with a similar error message to yours. Don't know what's wrong but I've seen in a number of other threads/forums people after this. It's a great little phone and definetly worth the money, but no CWM recovery is really holding it back at the moment.

I've seen your work on here before so I'm sure you can get us a CWM recovery if you put your mind to it, but I appreciate you may not have the time for this..thanks.
