Hi all. Further to my topic a while ago, having now found a PC, I'm looking at how to get Linux. On my search, I found this guide ( http://neosmart.net/wiki/display/EBCD/Ubuntu ) on how to get both Ubuntu and Windows 7 on a Windows bootloader. Has anyone done something like this, and if so, what guide(s) did you use?

Cheers

Mine was done similar way using easy bcd.

Had win7 preinstalled. I shrunk the win partition to get space for ubuntu. After installing ubuntu on that partition I used easybcd to set boorloader.

Ah right. Not sure on the drive capacity yet. It's a present :D but I think that guide is easy for me to follow. Tried the Canonical wiki but so many strange words in there made it confusing

Getting both Ubuntu and Windows 7 using the Windows bootloader is extremely easy. Just download the Ubuntu ISO, burn/mount it, and run the Wubi installer from inside Windows. It does everything for you.

And what's wrong with Grub2? That's installed automatically with Ubuntu...

Yeah, I did think the question was a bit strange, since GRUB lets you boot into Windows anyway. Both methods work, at any rate.
