Guest Modifoid Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 Just a heads up - Huawei Ascend G330 will be released towards the end of the year. 1GHz dual-core £100 SIM-free ICS 4-inch 800 x 480p 1500mAh battery 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich http://www.trustedreviews.com/news/huawei-ascend-g330-unveiled-as-4-inch-budget-android-phone
Guest yaqh Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 i've been looking forward to this one.
Guest CurtisAndroidSF2 Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 I was about to purchase a G300 during January 2013 but after reading that I'll be holding off and waiting for the G330 and for some development to start brewing. Thanks for the heads up.
Guest SparkTheDark Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 Seems there isn't a huge amount of difference apart from processor and GPU (and apparently being 10g lighter); will the dual-core make a huge amount of difference?
Guest Xenon0816 Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 I'ts already been released in Germany, for €195 though, which is about 160 pounds :( http://www.amazon.de/Huawei-Smartphone-TFT-Display-Touchscreen-Megapixel/dp/B0097LI3NE/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1353689442&sr=8-3 For 100 I'd take it, but this price seems a little high...
Guest dbaseii Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 Can anyone confirm that it has a front facing camera?
Guest CurtisAndroidSF2 Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 Can anyone confirm that it has a front facing camera? Doesn't look like it but even if it did, it would be extremely low quality (as in 0.3mp) and I doubt the device would get Skype support so it'd be near enough useless anyway.
Guest CommeRestus Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 And yes it has front camera (VGA)

Dual core makes A LOT of difference. A single core device can score about 2900-3000 in Antutu, but a dual core device scores around 5000, sometimes close to 6000 :D

Every phone has Skype support, even the G300 so why wouldn't the G330 get support  Edited November 23, 2012 by kyan31

Guest unaszplodrmann Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 After the G300 fiasco, this is definitely one for the brave... Or the foolish.
Guest SparkTheDark Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 Can anyone confirm that it has a front facing camera? GsmArena show it as having a secondary (http://www.gsmarena.com/huawei_ascend_g330-4966.php); doesn't state the resolution though.
Guest grizzlyflea Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 After using.the g300 I think the.N4 is where I go.next
Guest bladebuddy Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 Excellent. Just sold a duel core 1.5gh HTC sensation xe. To be truthful I didn't find it much faster then this , game play slightly better and lots of games available , multitasking good. Only thing I liked about the phone was , playing music was way better then on the g300. Wouldn't pay £350 quid for a new one when you can grab one of these for £100 though.
Guest Hans Gruber Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 It doesn't sound entirely sim-free to me if you have to sign up for Talk Talk. Maybe just a badly worded article?

I imagine it'll be a similar deal as the G300 on Vodafone ie: free on contract, £100 on PAYG etc. Edited November 23, 2012 by SparkTheDark
Guest b4da55 Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 (edited) So so i aint gonna be selling my g300 for it Edited November 23, 2012 by b4da55
Guest Magnets Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 Seems decent for the price, new chip, new graphics core, front camera, slightly smaller/lighter. But Huawei...
Guest CurtisAndroidSF2 Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 Every phone has Skype support, even the G300 so why wouldn't the G330 get support  I meant for video calls
Guest MioCZ Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 I have just ordered Newman N1, is better and cheaper then G330.
Guest Smiff2 Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 ah really! i was considering a G330 from Germany for £145 ish, decided its too much, would get another G300 for £100 (also slightly too much now imho, its same price as 6 months ago). for £100 i'd def. buy a G330 now. it comes with ICS so even little ROM support for a while shouldn't be a big deal.
Guest grizzlyflea Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 And what about that new zte tegra phone
Guest wrtease Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 (edited) there plenty rom about for this g330 at http://www.romzj.com/resources/huawei.html?view=roms&cid=210 so have fun and enjoy when you get one . Edited November 23, 2012 by wrtease
