ok, to avoid any further confusion, the link in this post (http://www.modaco.co...60#entry2085311) was edited there with the new version of the OTA update, but here it is again:

there are two files in that folder, one smaller that has everything unnecessary removed (faster rom, more memory) but which might not boot (but it should now), so try that one first

and the other, larger one, is called BLOATWARE, as it has some Baidu background services remaining (you get them in dakok's V21 repack too), but which boots for sure - so use that one only if the first fails...

Slight issue i can see the files but cant.seem to download,when i click it shows the contents of the zip file?

yes works.used slim.

both the full V21 version, and the V20 to V21 OTA update confirmed working now (if you use one, you don't need the other)

I don't mind at all. Only mad a bit cause now I'm tempted to flash it again (I flashed this version 5-6 times to make it work) :-).

sorry for the bad things, but for me this is the worst rom. it was faulty in some settings and too laggy and slow. sorry but is my opinion. but thanks for changing this roms for our huawei ascend g300, keep with good work. ;)

I am really sorry that I (and other participants in this topic) made you think that this is

a fast and no-laggy rom.

I guess that we must be out of our minds for dealing with a worst G300 rom! :D

But loony as I am, I`ll continue to play with this Baidu....

I tested your ROM21 repack and it seems to be a good one.

I`ll upload that and OTA to be together with the rest in OP link (OP is updated)

...and remove mine "bloatwared" one. :P

no, you would still need the addons from the above post

and also, this rom has different mount points than stock, so it doesn't suffer from its sd-card unmounting problem - the author of that app would have to update it accordingly

elementary my dear watson, elementary... just deduct my list from yours, and whatever is left, however improbable it may sound, is the real culprit of this heinous crime

just kidding, it was the BaiduServiceFramework.apk and BaiduSysFramework.apk - they only contain resources (images, text, etc...) for other apps, and in the earlier repacks everything using them was also removed (except for the search widget which as a result just ended being blank), but in the new one some others started relying on them too (traffic manager for example), and there will probably be more in the feature, as they theme the rom more and more

Just installed the ROM. It's pretty smooth. One tiny issue that I found is that Google Search crashes. Is there a way to fix it? Thanks.

To really know the difference - one should test it :)

I wont do that. I`ĺl show you how to adapt it so you can test it yourself. I can`t try every rom that looks promising. :)

So it goes like this:

Apps used:

Notepad++ (portable)

7zip

Open Baidu rom zip file in 7zip.

Delete Recovery folder.

Go to: META-INF/com/google/android.

Drag updater-script file from 7zip window to desktop (or somewhere else).

Leave 7zip window open.

Open Notepad++ and run it, open your dragged updater-script file.

Change phone version - replace u8818 to u8815 to look like this:

Save your updater script file and drag it back to your (still open) 7zip window

in META-INF/com/google/android folder (it will automaticly replace old version)

Remove *.apk and its *.odex part

Just close 7zip window and thats it.

For Shendu rom, you dont have to change version number and you remove some other apks.

Thanks very similar to the apps I already deleted by experimenting,...... ..... works the same on the G330d I did update to the 2.1 rom (chinese new year version) for the G330d but found it less smoother then the v2 I am amazed how much more free memory it has released on the 330d v the huawei based 956 / 95X / 94X roms . You can also download some of the themes and experiment until you find the ideal look for your phone.
