Guest PaulOBrien Posted January 23, 2013 Report Posted January 23, 2013 In this topic i've posted a custom recovery that allows developers to create custom ROMs. To show this in action, i've deodexed and prerooted the WWE 10.4.11.13 update, as well as removing the recovery overwrite function. This should let developers have a look at what's involved in creating them, provide a deodexed base to work from and provide modders with a deodexed ROM to tweak. A good starting point to more custom ROMs I hope! Enjoy! :) DOWNLOAD (ROMraid) - MD5: e2926f6e6b8f0961a9361c32c635e4e4 I've flashed this on my device and it's running great, but use at your own risk of course. :) Note that if you are flashing to / from a different region (e.g. WWE<>TW) then as your device is being re-partitioned, you may need to wipe. If the initial flash fails, wipe data, then flash again. If this flash still fails, restart recovery then flash again. :) P
Guest rafael_mfr Posted January 23, 2013 Report Posted January 23, 2013 Paul, thanks for your effort! Should I have to install it through your modded recovery? Could you please gently put a step-by-step how too install it? I'm under 10.4.6.9 rooted and stock recovery.
Guest PaulOBrien Posted January 23, 2013 Report Posted January 23, 2013 Install the modded recovery, push this file to the internal SD then install from recovery... P

Guest rafael_mfr Posted January 24, 2013 Report Posted January 24, 2013 @Paul, Gave a try with ur modded recovery succesfully (I think so), according to pic bellow. 'exit' cmd and then rebooted phone by pressing root fow a few secs. Then exit the fastboot MODE! (wwe rom file is on the root sdcard already) when restarted, on home screen an notification appears saying that an update is available, so on I accepted to install it. phone boots into recovery and start to flash automatically, then an error appears: choose zip manually by moving the buttons and comfirm at the power. flash process starts but failed again for the second time. reboot the system and phone still on 10.4.9.6 (obviously) what did I do wrong? do you have any advice? Thanks for your effort! Thanks in advance! Rafael
Guest killlimrandy Posted January 24, 2013 Report Posted January 24, 2013 Hi all, I have a questions about flashing the custom firmware, adn thanks for advance. By using this WWE rom will require the custom recovery to be flashed before, so do I have to unlock my padfone before flashing the custom recovery? thanks all!
Guest zozi Posted January 24, 2013 Report Posted January 24, 2013 Yes or all the questions Rafael, did you try wipe the Phone over recovery?

Guest Rilly Posted February 14, 2013 Report Posted February 14, 2013 OK..... I have ABSOLUTELY no idea how to flash this rom without an SD card. I've only ever flashed my previous devices by using the SD and a program like ODIN. I've now spent at least 6 hours trying to find the solution from every known source - xda, u tube and various droid tech sites. There must be an easier way??? I'm happy to pay for specific software or donate if someone can help. HELP!! :-)

HELP!! :-) you've to put this rom into root of internal sd card install modded recovery provided by paul go to recovery and 'choose zip from sdcard' (move with volume buttons and confirm by pressing power button) wait flash procedure and you're done.
Guest Uzrbital Posted February 21, 2013 Report Posted February 21, 2013 you've to put this rom into root of internal sd card install modded recovery provided by paul go to recovery and 'choose zip from sdcard' (move with volume buttons and confirm by pressing power button) wait flash procedure and you're done. In my custom recovery, there is no "Choose zip from sdcard" but only "Apply update from external storage" and "apply update from cache". I'm pushing the rom to /data/media so I can find it in external storage, but obviously that isn't working and just gives me Installation Aborted.
Guest DjBastard Posted March 4, 2013 Report Posted March 4, 2013 Hello, A question: This Deodexed WWE ROM can be installed from the recovery with 2.4.2.0 TWRP?? Can anyone confirm that? In case something goes wrong, power + vol down TWRP recovery starts? thanks salu2
Guest Walaway Posted March 4, 2013 Report Posted March 4, 2013 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2135735 Head on to this thread, all the sources and howto's are there. Right now I am testing to insert random stuff and debloat the OTA.zip we'll see if there'd be any problems after flashing or while flashing.
Guest killkyo Posted March 20, 2013 Report Posted March 20, 2013 Just a really noob question, can this rom be flashed without a custom recovery or without bootloader being unlocked? I have problems unlocking the bootloader due to the "Unknown errors, maybe due to network connections" issue but I would like to root the phone. Any enlightenment please?
Guest SiSSiDroid Posted March 20, 2013 Report Posted March 20, 2013 Try to force close Asus Webstorage. That helped for me and many others.

Guest killkyo Posted March 20, 2013 Report Posted March 20, 2013 My web storage is never opened, I closed it and its not shown in the task manager widget, is that forced closed?
Guest SiSSiDroid Posted March 20, 2013 Report Posted March 20, 2013 My web storage is never opened, I closed it and its not shown in the task manager widget, is that forced closed? No. I mean... - Settings - Apps - Locate all apps. - Search for Asus WebStorage - Long Press it and Force Stop was the name of it. Il try to find the guide where people were talking about not getting there bootloader unlocked because of different apps using the connection after boot.
Guest killkyo Posted March 21, 2013 Report Posted March 21, 2013 My force stop for web storage is greyed out. I guess that means its not running. Thanks a lot for helping, I will also look ard for more solutions.
