How to port a ROM from other device?

Can anyone guide me how to port ROM from other device which is having almost similar specification? The ROM i am trying to port is for same processor and screen resoluton. I can successfully flash the ROM on my device. But i am getting a reboot loop. Its keep getting rebooted after every 3-4 secs. What could be the problem that is not lemme to successfully boot the device. Need some genuine help plz?

take boot.img from some rom which works in ur device, and drop it to the port rom. Thank god you didnt break ur device, by flashing kernel from other device, if you do that, you may burn ur processor etc !

I flashed kernel. And the device booted successfully on stock ROM. But the interface was all messed up. That means kernel is working fine on my device.

When im flashing the JB ROM, white screen shows up for 2 secs and phone gets restarted. I am not able to boot sucessfully. Wht cud be the problem?
