Just got Huawei G300

Greeting gurus, I have just arrived from 2004 (phone-wise) and just got a G300. So I want to:

Get rid of the Vodaphone crap

Get Ice Cream Sandwich

Unlock the phone (I am waiting for a code I bought)

So which order should I do these, or does it matter?. I tried the superrecovery rom thing from this thread http://www.modaco.com/topic/353386-how-to-root-your-huawei-ascend-g300-for-windows-mac-and-linux/ , it seemed to work but the phone looks the same as before.

Go onto the g300 forum pages, and follow the pinned threads about upgrading. Not being rude, but this question gets asked over and over again.
