Guest Riddlemc Posted March 12, 2013 Report Posted March 12, 2013 Firstly, If I copy my custom rom from my current sd card to a new sd card will it work? By 'copy', i literally mean copy and paste or do I have to reinstall my rom along with rooting again? Secondly, does anyone have any recommendations on a good sd card for this phone? It can be either 16gb or 32gb. Thanks in advance.
Guest kyan31 Posted March 12, 2013 Report Posted March 12, 2013 You can copy ROMs over as normal, weird question :P 16GB would probably be the best, at least half the people with 32 GB cards are experiencing a lot of problems.

Whew, a response, thank you. Any particular sd card you would recommend? SanDisk? Kingston? Class?
Guest kyan31 Posted March 12, 2013 Report Posted March 12, 2013 (edited) I'd buy a Sandisk, class 4 as it's cheap and should work fine. Really both companies are good :) Edited March 12, 2013 by kyan31

Guest Cyda Posted March 12, 2013 Report Posted March 12, 2013 (edited) I wouldn't recommend anything other than a Class 10 if you are buying a new card. They don't cost much these days. Class 4 is a bare minimum in my experience and the faster phones get, the faster you want your sd card. 4MB/s+ write speed is ok but you are far better with 10MB/s+ considering the cost. This one is tried and tested, costs £20 and is plenty fast (I use the same card): http://www.amazon.co...l/dp/B005FY61EK Edit: If you only want 16GB: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-Class-Micro-Extreme-Speed/dp/B00569J5E2 Edited March 12, 2013 by Cyda
Guest Posted March 12, 2013 Report Posted March 12, 2013 I got a class 10 32GB SanDisk from Amazon and I occasionally get internal storage/ external SD storage switch issue with it. Think I would buy Cyda's choice next time.

Guest Posted March 12, 2013 Report Posted March 12, 2013 Maybe try partition alignment and SD Formatter formatting? http://www.modaco.co...20#entry2098210 I tried the SD Formatter but it made no difference. Doesn't bother me much as I never turn the phone off except to flash something, then I just check the storage on the reboot.
Guest Redflake Posted March 12, 2013 Report Posted March 12, 2013 (edited) Considering no one knows how many people have got 32 GB cards its an assumption to say half have problems. As for the formatting trick in my experience the internal storage bug still returns. The only roms lve found that remain on external storage are cm roms and meijarom. I ran meijarom b10 for over a week and never had a problem with the storage bug. Edited March 12, 2013 by Redflake
Guest hippy dave Posted March 12, 2013 Report Posted March 12, 2013 I wouldn't recommend getting a SanDisk. I'm gonna try Samsung next.

Guest Rico_89 Posted March 13, 2013 Report Posted March 13, 2013 (edited) I've tried Samsung and IMO Sandisk are the best. The Class system for speed isn't as standard as you might think, which is why you can get different results from different memory cards, that are suppose to be the same speed, and the way Sandisk uses the memory seems to be faster for me, especially when taking pictures. Here's a couple to look at and they come with an adaptor. 16GB : http://www.amazon.co...omputers&sr=1-1 32GB : http://www.amazon.co...63165744&sr=1-1 When I got my phone Amazon were doing a deal on the 16GB version but it was a class 6 for £6.99, so I bought that and I have to say it is fast and I have never had any problems with it, and I can take pictures with no blur.
