Guest f4tal85 Posted April 6, 2013 Report Posted April 6, 2013 Hi guys, I have the problem that I tried to unlock my ZTE blade 3, but entered too many wrong unlock codes. When I turn on the phone, it says "Network unlocking is blocked due to 10 incorrect attempts. (0)". When I take out the SIM card, everything works perfectly and I can use the phone except for calling and so on. Is there any way to reset the counter of the unblocking attempts back to 10?? Thanks for any help!
Guest BrBean Posted April 6, 2013 Report Posted April 6, 2013 If it works without SIM, you should backup your messages, contacts etc. and flash original firmware. I don't know if there is a more sophisticated way to resolve your problem, but it should work ;)
Guest f4tal85 Posted April 8, 2013 Report Posted April 8, 2013 As I have an UK Blade 3 from Virgin, I can't download the original firmware. I have flashed the CyanogenMod 10.1 from KostaT, and now the SIM is not even detected anymore. With SIM inserted, the phone boots up as normal but does not have any mobile signal. I asked Virgin to help me but they said I should contact ZTE so they can probably unlock it (which don't respond to emails..). However, I think the whole issue is the blocked IMEI, that the phone sends when it gets turned on with a working SIM card. But then the network or whatever recognises that its blocked, which the phone was showing me then. So it should be somehow possible to unblock the IMEI i guess, or not? Anyway, if you know about any software-based way to get around this (expect chaning IMEI), I would be extremely thankful!
Guest brzijazo Posted April 8, 2013 Report Posted April 8, 2013 as i understand custom rom's have no relationship with phone unlocking and i dont think it will work. tried it on my old phones. custom roms dont remove sim lock. in my country after one year in prepaid mobile operater unlocks phone for free because the law is like that. dont know how to help u. my blade 3 came unlocked in croatia
Guest BrBean Posted April 8, 2013 Report Posted April 8, 2013 Well, after some testing I can confirm that my suggested method will not reset your unlock counter. I have flashed original firmware, entered wrong code (now I have 9/10 attempts), flashed original firmware again and counter is still on 9 attempts... I thought that it can do the job, but the phone obviously have "dedicated sector", where SIM lock info's are stored, so I think there is no easy way to resolve problem :(
Guest mysdavey Posted April 9, 2013 Report Posted April 9, 2013 From the description it sounds like a PIN unlock issue in the SIM? Or are you trying to carrier unlock the device to use with another SIM card from another carrier? If this issue is in the SIM as it sounds like from the description, This has nothing do to with the device itself. If you put the SIM into another phone it should also tell you that the same amount of tries have been used. There are no ways around this using the device. You need to call your carrier and ask them for a PUK code to unlock the SIM (or use the phone with another SIM in the future).

Thanks for any help! I think doing hard reset will reset the counter back to 10 buy I am not sure . Contact the ZTE officials and ask them to how to reset the counter. If you want to try hard rest follow the link http://www.hard-reset.com/zte-blade-3-iii-hard-reset.html . If you want to unlock the ZTE Blade 3 get the unlock code from service provider or from reliable online vendors like http://www.ADVERTING SPAM.com/zte-blade-3/rs16wp9/ .There you have to give your Country and current network name along with your IMEI number to get the unlock code.
