Guest kyan31 Posted April 10, 2013 Report Posted April 10, 2013 (edited) Presenting Electra, created by me Kyan31 for the Huawei Ascend G300. This ROM is based on Dazzozo's build of CyanogenMod 10.1 and has been created to bring even more features to an already great ROM, but it also offers many overall enhancements to make your experience even better. As always, there will be more updates to come and i'm happy to receive feedback or new ideas. Anyway, let's get to the features:Based on CyanogenMod 10.1 R4 Battery tweaks Performance tweaks Cache and dalvik cleaners Image and video enhancements (800x480 video* and improved bitrate) Signal and internet tweaks Live wallpaper enhancements CPU set at 320Mhz as default SD cache set at 2048 for faster read/write speeds Touchscreen sensitivity enhancements Sony mobile Bravia Engine 2 Contacts locked in memory for minimal caller-ID lag Modified Trebuchet with wallpaper hack enabled Adblocking hosts file ICS Camera CM9 Gallery DSP Manager merged with Beats Audio 30 Media volume steps for precise control Electra Settings Font manager Lockscreen manager System Control (Build.prop mods and more!) By Tillaz AOKP's Performance control By Tillaz Pie Control Multiple user support 4 row quick settings Centered clock Nexus style locker with blue glowdots CoverFlow styled Theme Manager By Tillaz Other UI changes OTA updates Electra Statistics Some language in apps re-written to tailor to the G300 APK's Zipaligned for quicker loading times Stripped junk from rom for small memory footprint (143 MB) Some system apps are uninstallable Custom Multi-DPI GAPPS with updated apk's Custom Electra wallpapers by PCTechRoss Custom bootanimation Other stuff I can't remember :P*800x480 recording has been removed from Electra V3 for instability reasonsAnd more too come soon...Any bugs that CM10.1 has will be present in Electra except for the following: Camera lag - ICS camera is used so the lag is gone Battery - I use a few battery tweaks, so the battery may be improved R1 (Solidfiles): DOWNLOAD | MIRROR MD5 - 4C1EE6F3C497E75865F419B69749AAC5 R2 (Solidfiles): DOWNLOAD | MD5 - A13AB8E1EB94ACD7ABBE2E2CAD480986 R3 (Solidfiles): DOWNLOAD | MD5 - DB745E8A9AE2F4557B9732BC6C9CB11C Electra GAPPS (Solidfiles): DOWNLOAD | MIRROR MD5 - C6B2F28070076E914BA1FA088B95569AThanks Cyda for the mirrors :)George109 was kind enough to upload the ROM, GAPPS, and the addons to his mediafire server, so you can download mirrors of my stuff HERE First time user Press the +1 button Download the ROM, the GAPPS, any available patches, and put them on your SD card Boot into recovery Wipe data/factory reset Wipe both dalvik/cache partitions Choose zip, choose the ROM, and install Choose zip, choose GAPPS, and install Choose zip, choose patch (if available) and install Reboot If using TWRP, do not allow it to fix root if it prompts you to. Root is fine on this ROM If coming from another version of Electra PLEASE READ: If you are running a version of Electra that has not been installed with full wipes, do not report bugs as It causes confusion. Installing without full wipes can cause bugs, so full wipes are usually recommended. You can flash without wipes if you wish, but do not report anything to me as it's not my fault! Thank you. Press the +1 button if you haven't already Wipe cache Wipe Dalvik cache Choose zip and then choose the ROM Reboot If using TWRP, do not allow it to fix root if it prompts you to. Root is fine on this ROM You may also have to flash GAPPS again, otherwise the Play Store will disappear. This ROM is based on CyanogenMod 10.1 R4 meaning it is multibaseband. You can flash it on the 2030 baseband or the 109808 baseband without any problems. The first boot always takes longer, so make a cup of tea while you're waiting. I also recommend giving the device an extra 5 minutes even after boot to ensure a smooth experience. Once you have done this, have fun :)If you like the ROM, hit that +1 button! You can also +1 the Addons/FAQ section as it gives me a better reputation on the MoDaCo forums :PThanks :)Credits Thanks BETA testers for testing and sending feedback when needed. The BETA testers include: - PCTechRoss - Blademaster123 - Kieranswhite - Rydlis - TheJaimes111 I also want to thank these people: - Dazzozo and team for the CyanogenMod ROM I used as a base, this ROM wouldn't exist without it :) - Tillaz for all the help he has given me, it has really come in handy so thanks again. How do I use it? A: The DPI changer allows you to change the screen density of your device. A lower DPI will make things on your screen smaller, and a higher DPI will make things bigger. I recommend you stay over 180 DPI as the G300 FC's when under that value, and never go under 130 as android cannot support it. This will cause your phone to bootloop, but there is a fix available in the addons to go back to the original DPI (240) Q: What information of mine is sent to your statistics page? A: The only information that is sent is a unique id, your device name (u8815), ROM version and name (Electra Vx), Country (GB, FR, ES etc.), and the carrier. These are quite a few factors, but the only person that can see them is me. The website it's sent to is public, but only the amount of installs is shown. Everything else is private. The factors are also completely anonymous and they can be turned off at any time. I would appreciate it if you left statistics on, but at the same time I don't want to to feel uncomfortable if it does infact, 'make you uncomfortable'. Here is the statistics site if you want to take a quick look: Click me Q: How do I use Pie Control A: Like this: Go to settings/system/power menu - tick the expanded desktop - go back to settings/pie control - enable pie - hold the power button and go to expanded desktop - Use pie control Q: Why can't I see the developer options/performance options? A: Because they are not enabled on first boot. To enable them permanently, tap the build number 5 times in About. Edited July 21, 2013 by kyan31
Guest kyan31 Posted April 10, 2013 Report Posted April 10, 2013 (edited) Possible network fix for CM10.1/Electra I swapped the RIL from CM10.1 R2 to R3, hopefully this might fix the network drop issues. Flash it like normal: DOWNLOAD Flash this to go back to the original RIL DOWNLOAD I advise you only flash this on the 2030 baseband, though there is a possibility it will work on the 109808 baseband too. You can just do a nandroid backup, and try it out. PATCH - 27/04/2013 This patch should fix any problems with 3rd party launchers FC'ing. Flash without wipes: DOWNLOAD | Only needed on Electra V2 PATCH - 05/05/2013 This patch will fix the camera bug and it will correct the spelling mistake in the Electra settings. Unfortunately the camera resolution will have to stay at 640x480 for now, but maybe in the future I can work on a fix. DOWNLOAD | Only needed on Electra V3 Boost Electra's performance After some sleuthing, it seems that the battery tweaks in my ROM cause Electra's performance to decrease. Fortunately, I have made some ZIP's which can remove the battery tweaks and increase the performance. Performance Booster - Will improve the performance, and may fix wakelock, but your battery will be back like stock CM10.1 | Only for Electra V2 Battery Booster - You may have a slight decrease in performance, but your battery will be noticeably improved | Only for Electra V2 Performance Booster - Will improve the performance, and may fix wakelock, but your battery will be back like stock CM10.1 | Only for Electra V3 Battery Booster - You may have a slight decrease in performance, but your battery will be noticeably improved | Only for Electra V3 Edited May 5, 2013 by kyan31

Guest Pyntux Posted April 10, 2013 Report Posted April 10, 2013 Does this rom have signal drop down like cm 10.1 r3 by Dazzo? If so, can you make zip for those who want to use this rom only on 2030 baseband with 2030 ril version or something? :) Please... :)
Guest kyan31 Posted April 10, 2013 Report Posted April 10, 2013 Does this rom have signal drop down like cm 10.1 r3 by Dazzo? If so, can you make zip for those who want to use this rom only on 2030 baseband with 2030 ril version or something? Please... I can swap the RIL and see if that does anything, but i'll leave that till a bit later. I'm taking a little teenie break right now ;)
Guest Pyntux Posted April 10, 2013 Report Posted April 10, 2013 (edited) Thanks, I will try rom and see is there signal drop down problem...but I think it will be, if you did not change anything about it, a lot of people complain that ;) Edited April 10, 2013 by Pyntux
Guest MrJohnPT Posted April 10, 2013 Report Posted April 10, 2013 Got everything on it. Looks good so far! Still a bit slower than Daz's CM10 but his CM10.1 was also slower so I'm not complaining. One thing I would like to see is the file manager on tha app list insted of on Electra Settings. Good job notheless!
Guest TangerineTractor Posted April 10, 2013 Report Posted April 10, 2013 One big omission - no Exchange email, and I haven't got a 4.2 version of it, so I'm gonna have to park this until we get a flushable exchange email. Everything else was absolutely fine.
