[URL of 27MB Xolo update ZIP file - sniffed!]

Hi guys.

For those who are interested, I packet sniffed and downloaded (on my PC) the 27MB Xolo "update" that causes all the problems and prevents rooting...

http://dl1.innopath....2416&m=1&j=91xs

You can also try:

http://dl1.innopath....v1/fota/383.dat

Rename it to .ZIP if it comes down as .DAT, and explore (just DO NOT install!)

*** Curiously, if you remove the last digit of 383.dat in the URL bar, and make it into 380, 381 etc, it downloads different sized updates... hmm... wonder what they all are ;) ...

### COULD THE JELLYBEAN UPDATE BE HERE?! :D ###

i change the last numbers in the ***.dat but the download remains the same i.e 383.dat ?

ok sorted it with a different browser ;-)

I downloaded six consecutive ZIP files from this server, and each says x900 in the install check scripts.

I don't work with probably or maybe.

Thanks Ricky :)

I would never risk flashing *anything* except what was verified as working - I like my free San Diego that the kind Orange lady *gave* me, and don't want to spoil it :D

Looks like there is a jellybean update on one of those links... although not specifically for the X900. For those who want a look, its update #478. JB version is 4.1.2.

If it has "x900" mentioned in build.prop* then it should be the one.

Downloading now, but no way am I installing it before some deep forensic investigation :)

Just extracting a massive zip within it called SparkResource

Have they got a phone model called "Spark"?

Build prop is a "P" file extension

Tried to have a look in build.prop when I DLed but as someone mentioned its a .p file - seems to be either be compressed/encrypted or whatnot as I can't read it at all.

I found out it was JB by looking in META-INF/com/Android/metadata:

fromgb=False

post-build=Intel/AQ710A/Salitpa:4.1.2/JZO54K/V1.0.9:user/release-keys

post-timestamp=1365565898

pre-build=Intel/AQ710A/Salitpa:4.1.2/JZO54K/wa-1:user/release-keys

pre-device=Salitpa

Wonder what an Intel AQ710A is? And if Intel uses the same encryption keys on all their devices (their reference devices, not say Moto RAZR i)?

Can you spell hypocrite?

Monkeys? That's not a kind thing to say - they're still humans with feelings and they deserve as much respect as you or I, no matter how dismissive or offhand they may be.

Forgiveness is powerful, or you'll end up being bitter and judgemental.

LOL!

I would politely ask anyone attempting to cause arguments and pick fault, not to do so, if for nothing else, then for their own sake, as they risk a possible ban.

I have been asked by a certain member, not to quote them in posts, as it appears they dislike me, for whatever reasons. However, said member seems to think that their own rule does not apply to them, and that it is acceptable to deride and taunt in public, in a childish manner.

Please do continue, and enjoy your weekend.

I don't know if it's just me who thinks this, but you seem patronising in so many of your posts

Would it benefit anyone if I spoke my mind and vented? It would get me banned, and cause offence to others, neither of which I want.

See it as me holding my tongue and talking as calmly as I can, considering the bitterness and unkindness of some people. I'm not a patronising person, but I'm human and have feelings as we all do, and if that appears patronising unintentionally, that's better than willfully being rude and aggressive.
