Guest peterck Posted May 4, 2013 Report Posted May 4, 2013 Paranoid Android Says Hello To Halo – 'This Is How You Do Multi Windowing On Android' It was yesterday we showed you what the developers behind the Paranoid Android custom ROM had been hard at work on — a new feature for Android dubbed “Halo” notifications. Similar to Facebook Messenger’s Chat Heads, Halo notifications work system-wide, forwarding all notifications from the notification bar to the Halo bubble. There, the notification can be clicked, and opened up in a tiny applet (again, similar to the way Facebook Messenger handles messages). It’s all quite genius really, and one of the best implementations of a multi-window user interface I’ve seen on Android to date. Today, one lucky fella from YouTube got his hands on an early build of Paranoid Android — Halo notifications and all — demoing the new feature for the world to see. He sounds almost as excited as I would be to try ‘em out. Check out the video below. FOR MORE INFORMATION CHECK OUT THE VIDEO IN THIS LINK ON YOUTUBE!!!!!! HOPE THIS COMES TO HAWEI ASCEND G300!!!! :D
Guest kyan31 Posted May 4, 2013 Report Posted May 4, 2013 I doubt PA + Halo would even work well on our device, our device is only a single core 1Ghz, and it only has about 350 mb of accessible ram.
Guest smweb Posted May 4, 2013 Report Posted May 4, 2013 Awesome!! but on g300, no way -- dual core, 1 GB RAM should be a must
Guest peterck Posted May 4, 2013 Report Posted May 4, 2013 Any thing is possible, we have Ubuntu running on this device kind of :L.
Guest kyan31 Posted May 4, 2013 Report Posted May 4, 2013 Any thing is possible, we have Ubuntu running on this device kind of :L. Ubuntu doesn't require as much processing power as PA, or even just stock android. Ubuntu could probably run well on even a 500 MHz device with 250 MB ram. PA is very power hungry as it offers so many features, CM10.1 'sometimes' struggles on our hardware, so PA would just be a pain in the ass :P
Guest smweb Posted May 4, 2013 Report Posted May 4, 2013 Right. Even if this feature from PA is ported, it would be unusable or extremely jarring on G300.
