AOKP & PAC are built from there own source,

AOKP https://github.com/AOKP, Site http://aokp.co/

PAC https://github.com/PAC-man

AOKP features are all totally different to CM, and there are way more of them.

PAC has the lot all in one ROM... i started making a custom build for the nexus 4,

rearranging all the settings into one category, with tabbed pages as i think it looks untidy with them all on the main settings page.

On either of these roms does Tvcatchup work? I know it doesn't work on cm 10.1 roms and that's 1 of the main reasons I keep going back to Ics as it works fine on them roms.

Tv catchup doesn't work on AOKP. BBC iPlayer works ok.

Although I remembered a cm workaround that works on AOKP too: install vlc media player, then use the stock browser to go to m.catchup.com, and when it asks what app to view the video in, select vlc.

The AOKP thread on Modaco says it's based on CM10.1?

It also says that all CM10.1 bugs will be present so I can't understand how people can say it's much better.

I think aokp uses Daz's cm10 kernel and device files, but rest of Rom is compiled from aokp source. So it still can has some cm10 bugs, if they are in kernel or dev. files. But some of bugs can be fixed.

take a look a the AOKP source code, people think its better because it has way more features.

give it a try and you will see how different it is to CM10.1, i personally build it from source for my nexus 4.

and it has the same bugs because its using the same Kernel / proprietarys / device config as daz's CM10.1

like most of the other ROMs built from source on here

Thanks for explaining. :)

Flashing and reinstalling is the bane of my life. :P

Elektra is great. It has a 16yo developer and a nifty logo. And is based on daz's stuff and has more features and more gigabyte, so it's even better.

i was joking. thanks tillaz for your advice on aopk. i'm still using your infusion. if there is any rom that can come up with that battery life and stability then i would be willing to trade. my question would be: is it time to switch or better wait a few month?
