Ringing stops when i pick up phone

I have my mini inside a case that has a flap which protects the screen. Whenever my phone rings I pick it up and for some reason the phone stops ringing, although I can still swipe the screen to answer the call. Does anyone know how to alter the phone so it only stops ringing after the call has been answered properly ??

My note does this as well. I find its quite handy for silencing a call you dont want to answer at that moment and you dont want the other person to think you hung up on them.
