HTC have announced the Butterfly s (yes, with a lower case s), the successor to it's gorgeous and very well received Asia flagship, complete with Ultrapixel camera and a huge 3200mAh battery.

The device, which will be available in select Asia Pacific markets from July (other markets TBC) retains the 5" 1080P SLCD3 screen of it's predecessor (well, where do you go from there?), the same 3 colours (white / red / black) and the same 2GB RAM but bumps the processor from S4 Pro to Snapdragon 600, replaces the camera with that Ultrapixel item (sans image stabilisation this time), adds a second speaker at the bottom for the BOOMSOUND we've come to love on the One and as mentioned packs in that monster battery.

16GB of storage is on board but as with the original Butterfly, microSD expansion is available. Android 4.2.2 is included right out of the box together with the latest Sense 5 + Blinkfeed customisations.

Notable by it's absence is LTE support, although it's certainly possible a LTE enabled variant will be announced at some point in the future.

On the whole it looks like a very very desirable device indeed, even if we're sadly not likely to see it in Europe. It's a fair bet that the device will hit Verizon in the US as an updated Droid DNA however.

Who's going to import one, and what colour? ;)

I wonder when this model will be released in UK, larger display and larger battery and slightly better processor, than Htc one.
