Reviving old ZTE Blade from the Grave

I have been away from the ZTE blade for a while now but thought it would be good to dig it out of the draw and use it as a smart mp3 player/fitness assistant.

My device is a first batch OLED san francisco converted to GEN2 some time ago with some windows based tool if I remember correctly.

Before turning it on I threw a couple of gingerbread roms on an SD card and booted it into CWM (4.0.1.5)

So far I have tried CM7, Swedish Snow and even CM9 all three of those the screen doesnt respond as would be expected.

With this in mind I thought I would go with a 2.2 rom as I know I should be safe with them as I have used them before on my Blade and the issues might be because of my OLED screen being outdated and possibly not supported on new roms.

However with trying Modaco 2.2 r12 and Japanese JellyFish my device refuses to boot with either of those roms.

Does anyone know what is going on? would a TPT update help?(never done one of these before always used CWM) Can I even do a TPT update on my device?

Thanks in advance.
