Guest Myke Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 I just loaded up my phone with 10 simpsons episodes! They play really well and look nice. I put them all on my 128 mb card. I LOVE THIS PHONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) ;) I can watch the simpsons on my phone! this is incredible!
Guest spacemonkey Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 I've found in the past with divx on PC etc, that cartoons are a lot more tolerant of low bitrate compression than real people videos.
Guest Myke Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 They are all WMV, I made them using this tutorial: Converting video in 18 VERY easy steps by Chris Benjaminsen I saw the tutorial on the french board about converting to DIVX, but I havent tried it yet.. Will the Divx player play full screen? I'm going to have to test out the two.
Guest Myke Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 In case you were curious how I chose which episodes to put on: http://www.ew.com/ew/article/commentary/0,...5,417748~3.html http://www.usatoday.com/life/television/ne...favorites_x.htm :) ;) I think the next batch of episodes will be all the halloween specials!
Guest Bazz Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 God I hate the halloween specials - they're just not funny...
Guest jtsaint Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 I was just imagining a scenario where someone were to pm with were simpsons eps can be found that i can then encode. But that was purely an imagenery scenario
Guest NXNM Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 only 10 ive got 30 on my 256 with plenty of room to spare :)
Guest Carnivor Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 i have the whole of harry potter 2 on my card, only 72mb aswell, I also followed the 18 steps thing.!!
Guest mattat Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 Yeah I suppose one of the advantages of a small screen is that you can get small file sizes....
Guest DJHope Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 If you think thats good you have no idea what your missing the DIVX player is at least 20x better than WMP, watched family guy in a lecture yesterday, nice :) DJ Hope

With the five latest episodes of friends (911-915) on the phone, there's not much I can ask for. Was watching episode 915 in a lecture today. Only difference... I was GIVING the lecture ! 8) :) Cas
Guest Moodoo Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 So far i've encoded about 80 simpsons episodes to WMA - series 1,2,12,13, 14 - using a simple .bat file script for media encoder 9. They are great for the tube - going to start on southpark soon! They all came from edonkey2000 p2p network (indexed by sharereactor.com, search for 'Simpsons' in Series - note is NOT an illegal or a warez site :) After testing i settled upon a profile of: 176x132 8fps 66k video 16kbps, 16khz, mono cbr Audio Buffer=4sec This is a total of 89kbps and is the absolute max audio/video quality trade-off that plays relatively smoothly for me. Am trying out divx format at the moment however . . .
