Guest aaseb Posted June 29, 2013 Report Posted June 29, 2013 (edited) Hi, I've switched roms a few times before on my ZTE blade without any problems. I wanted to try jelly bean and tried cm10.1 and other android 4.2 roms but all gave me an error about symlinks status 7 when installing from cwm So I finally got cm10 to work but I cant install gapps properly. When I install it i get a message saying android is upgrading after reboot but the play store and other google apps still don't appear in the list of apps. Am I missing something here? I tried different versions of gapps but no luck. I finally found a way to get the store apk but when i open it, after a few seconds, i get : unfortunately, google play store has stopped any help would be greatly appreciated. Guest peetu20 Posted June 29, 2013 Report Posted June 29, 2013 Are you sure you take gapps from daemond first post? Other gapps may not work. Is your /system partition at least 160 mb? And redownloading helps always, if theres some symlink errors. At least, I have seen many peoples which comes here, says that some rom or mod doesnt work, then we notice that mentioned guy doesnt have Blade at all :), so make sure you have Blade, not Blade II or III i.e
Guest aaseb Posted June 29, 2013 Report Posted June 29, 2013 thanks for the reply. ok i'm startig to understand a few things. My system partition is 136mb. I downloaded tpt helper and tried to change that but no luck. I managed once to get the green text and it seemed to be doing something but it just got stuck there and on reboot my system partitio is still 136mb the thing is holding menu and volume+ doesn't seem to work. I'm pretty sure it's the blade 1. It was originally GEN1 and switched it to GEN2. I think i need the complete failproof guide for idiots. Can I find this anywhere?
Guest aaseb Posted June 29, 2013 Report Posted June 29, 2013 (edited) http://forum.xda-dev...d.php?t=1745530 i found this noob proof guide which worked for TPT helper, my system partition is now 200mb. I will now try again to flash an android 4 rom and gapps. any suggestions for a nice stable rom with everything working and fit for daily use? Edited June 29, 2013 by aaseb
Guest aaseb Posted June 29, 2013 Report Posted June 29, 2013 I got eco cm9 and it seems to work, installed gapps and I got the market! any other roms I should consider?
Guest peetu20 Posted June 29, 2013 Report Posted June 29, 2013 Cm10 is smoothest rom. Then cm10.1 too. Both are very stable, but scrolling lags bit more in cm10.1. But I still would use cm10.1. Quicksettings are handy too. If you use bt often, take cm10, cm10.1 bt is bit buggy. Whats then...s2e works better with cm10 than cm10.1, but I have used cm10.1 many months as daily without problems :)
Guest aaseb Posted June 29, 2013 Report Posted June 29, 2013 thanks, will i be missing anything if I keep CM9? i like the fact that this eco cm9 is supposed to be optimized for battery.
Guest peetu20 Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 Cm10 and Cm10.1 battery life is pretty same than in cm9 roms, but I am pretty sure that you will not miss anything.
Guest aaseb Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 had a strange problem with cm9 : in games i get big white squares where graphics should load. gonna try cm10.1
Guest peetu20 Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 Yeah, something related to gpu. Use cm10.1 or cm10. I have never had such issues.
