Chinese Devices in NZ

Hi all,

I'm looking to upgrade from my G300. There are plenty of Chinese phones available on trademe (our equivalent of Ebay) and they are good value for money.

As they are not "name brand" devices, how would I get on with rooting these devices? And whats the chances of finding custom ROMs for these?
