Guest mandgeo Posted August 1, 2013 Report Posted August 1, 2013 I've followed step by step the tutorial from http://huaweig300.com, and now i've read that unlocking the bootloader after theyr method gets you into trouble. So...i've installed Slimbean 7.8, from stock rom, using huaweig300.com method. I was experienced alot of random reboots and i've blamed the rom. Later i've understood that hacking the bootloader after huaweig300.com method can lead to random reboots and there is an official method. The official method requested the Product id, but Slimbean, or any JB, cannot give this number. So i've got back to a ICS moded rom, Stock +. I've made the instalation by twrp, it gives me the product id, but i saw that my IMEI is ZERO. So...my imei is zero, then i should recover it using 5lromToolBox. No luck. The recovery process still gives me zero imei. What should i do next? I really want to use the official bootloader unlocker and then go back to Slimbean. Thanks
Guest plewis1981 Posted August 1, 2013 Report Posted August 1, 2013 (edited) Did you flash Flash the backup you made before starting or the one you did after you unlocked your phone? Once you have an OFFICIALY unlocked bootloader you cannot hack your IMEI. So you WILL need to have the original IMEI backup restored to unlock the bootloader. If you want to run you phone without unlocking it you can run any JB 4.2.2 based on Dazozzo's CM10.1 code, Edited August 1, 2013 by plewis1981
Guest mandgeo Posted August 1, 2013 Report Posted August 1, 2013 huaweig300.com sais... root, backup imei, reroot, unlock bootloader, install cwm, install rom I've tried to restore the imei backedup from rooted stock (not modified stock+) rom. Should i get the last rom from huawei website, root it and then run the tool to recover the imei?
Guest plewis1981 Posted August 1, 2013 Report Posted August 1, 2013 (edited) Yes once you have a fresh stock install. Root it as the guide says then install 5irom, and restore your true IMEI backup. I would put the 5irom backup ( the whole folder "5irom" ) you made befor modifying your IMEI on the internal and external SD cards ( this is only a precaution it saves messing with the default storage ) Edited August 1, 2013 by plewis1981
Guest mandgeo Posted August 1, 2013 Report Posted August 1, 2013 no luck. I've reinstalled stock b952 (as before), rooted the phone, installed 5irom and restored imei. still zero
Guest plewis1981 Posted August 1, 2013 Report Posted August 1, 2013 I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news but without you true IMEI you will not be able to officially unlock your bootloader. If you have more than one 5irom backup try flashing the others. You never know. Good luck
Guest mandgeo Posted August 1, 2013 Report Posted August 1, 2013 (edited) I think that my phone is a little f...ed up than that. My serial number, mac address (in about phone) are not the same written on the back of my phone. The phone is usable with zero imei. I can make calls, receive sms. What should happen if i use it like that? Edited August 1, 2013 by mandgeo
Guest plewis1981 Posted August 1, 2013 Report Posted August 1, 2013 You can get up to 5 years in prison in the UK for tampering with an imei number My phone had a zero IMEI for months before I noticed. You can always re right your imei as in the guide I followed. I have wondered if you would be able to use someone's imei backup from a broken phone or one that is no longer in use. But someone would have to be willing to share there if they have a backup.
Guest mandgeo Posted August 2, 2013 Report Posted August 2, 2013 I've succesfully restored my imei using this... But my SN (in About Phone / Status) is 20F3A3E42E7E, which is wrong. Even my MAC address is wrong. I saw a guy complaining about the same SN after he applyed unlockbootloader.exe ( ) Another thing...the SN shown in the engeneering menu is not the same written on the back of my phone... :((
Guest plewis1981 Posted August 2, 2013 Report Posted August 2, 2013 Don't worry about it my S/N is different, if you email [email protected] with your imei and S/N from under the battery they can provide the code.

Sorry this only applys if you have a true IMEI if you use DFS tool to re write your IMEI you will not be able to unlock your bootloader by official code :( The S/N is not an important issue like the IMEI
Guest mandgeo Posted August 2, 2013 Report Posted August 2, 2013 I've completed the form hosted by huawei (imei from back, the one that i wrote with DFS, SN from the back of the phone and Product ID from the phone) and my request was accepted. At the first try, when my imei was zero, the product id was different, and the form rejected my request. I've checked the bootloader, and is listed as LOCKED, not RELOCKED.
Guest dalyer Posted August 2, 2013 Report Posted August 2, 2013 (edited) I've checked the bootloader, and is listed as LOCKED, not RELOCKED. Isn't that correct? The bootloader should be listed as "locked" before you attempt to unlock it using an unlock code: http://www.modaco.co...d/#entry2128103 So it sounds to me like you have the original locked ICS bootloader installed and can now try the official unlock process. I don't think that you'll ever see "relocked" as the status in ADB. Or maybe I'm missing something here? Edited August 2, 2013 by dalyer

He has lost the original IMEI files from before he hacked his IMEI, and you need the original files for the bootloader unlock code to work ( I know I did )
Guest hippy dave Posted August 2, 2013 Report Posted August 2, 2013 (edited) I had a similar problem, the 5irom backup I took of my phone's original state turned out later to be incomplete, it was missing the 5.img which is the all-important oeminfo partition. I rewrote the IMEI with DFSTool and got on with my life, but when the bootloader unlock codes became available, mine didn't work because I didn't have the original oeminfo partition. There's a hacky solution tho :) Once someone successfully unlocks the bootloader, the information that it's unlocked is stored in the oeminfo partition too, and this can be copied. jsevi83 very kindly got hold of an unlocked partition from a G330 for me, which works perfectly on a G300 except that you can't install any official update.app without re-hacking your imei to zero first. I'm using it, my official bootloader is properly unlocked, and I even have my own IMEI (which is a bit of a mystery, the phone must be reading it from somewhere other than that oeminfo partition). Ideally you would be better off getting a 5irom backup from someone with a G300 who has officially unlocked their bootloader, and hopefully someone here might be kind enough to share one, but if that's not an option then you can use this one from a G330 - as I said, the catch is you won't be able to install any update.app without re-hacking the IMEI. Credit to jsevi83 for the 5.img. Edit: now just sharing the 5.img as the previous files caused other problems. If anyone else wants to use this, combine with your own 10.img and 11.img. Restore with 5irom once you have an official bootloader from an update.app, not a hacked bootloader. Your bootloader will then be unlocked and you can install CWM (or TWRP) and start flashing roms as usual. Guest mandgeo Posted August 2, 2013 Report Posted August 2, 2013 @dalyer... i was on stock...rooted, installed cwm, custom JB (the hacked, not officially unlocked bootloader gave me reboots), then i've installed custom stock+ (to find the product id) and that is when i've got zero imei. After that, i've installed the stock huawei b952, i've fixed the imei, and checked bootloader. On the link you gave me, the one i've used to check the bootloader status, at the second "C:\adb>fastboot oem get-bootinfo" example, the status in RELOCKED. That's what i was expecting. Not such a big problem. I will wait the code from huawei and i will see if it's working. @hippy dave... I have those three files backed up, but 5irom did not restored my imei. I'll wait for huawei unlock code and if it doesn't work...i will try again to restore using 5irom and ...i'll play a little before using files from g330. Big thanks for your advices.

Guest mandgeo Posted August 6, 2013 Report Posted August 6, 2013 @hippy dave... I've flashed the files you gave me. Bootloader is unlocked, but i'm stuck with an imei that is not mine. I've tried the DFS trick (in JB is not working and in Stock+ the imei is not changing even if i've followed the tutorial by the letter). Do i have to zero my imei and then write the correct one or what do you think i'm doing wrong. I saw a .zip file called zero imei (or something), but i can't find it anymore. Any ideas? :D PS I'm not afraid to use someone else's imei, as i don't live in UK or any other country with such strict rules, but i don't think it's fair.
Guest hippy dave Posted August 6, 2013 Report Posted August 6, 2013 When I did it, I think I restored the 5irom backup I had of my own IMEI that I'd edited with DFS, then I restored the unlocked one I gave you. I was surprised to find that I was left with my own IMEI. If that doesn't work, I don't know what will, you might be stuck with a different IMEI if you want the unlocked bootloader. Good luck!
Guest mandgeo Posted August 6, 2013 Report Posted August 6, 2013 I'm back on B952, with IMEI zero. Why the hell did Huawei gave us this pain in the ass called bootloader?! :(( I'll write imei image with the one for g330 and try to change the imei with stock B952 installed. Maybe this will work.
Guest mandgeo Posted August 7, 2013 Report Posted August 7, 2013 SUCCESS !!! Now i have the g330 unlocked bootloader, provided by hippy dave, my own IMEI and I'm using SlimBean 8. The trick that made the diference... I've used 5.img from g330 and the other two files (10.img and 11.img) from my own working backups (i had some that zeroed my imei). If i use all the files from g330, DFS cannot write another imei (the logs shows an read only state). DFS cannot be used in JB because engeneering menu is not available in JB. Thank YOU ALL for your help!!!
Guest hippy dave Posted August 7, 2013 Report Posted August 7, 2013 (edited) Oh good discovery, nice work! :D Have edited my previous post to just share the 5.img in case anyone else wants it. Edited August 7, 2013 by hippy dave
