Guest Northstandhero
No mate, just got the usual developer options.tried editing the gps config, in system, etc but for some reason it won't save the edit, I think it's to do with the R/RW options but can't find anywhere in the file explorer options to make it writeable. Guest allanmac
can't find anywhere in the file explorer options to make it writeable. ES File Explorer > click on upper left icon > Root Explorer > Mount R/W. Don't forget to return the filesystem to read-only when you're done. Guest deuse
For me; Yes and yes. Thanks dude. All I got to do now is find someone in england selling one. I was looking at getting a Red Rice but they are way over charging for it as it's just a V5 with a faster cpu.
Guest dakok
No way, dude! :) It is much much more than v5: Xiaomi Hongmi (Red Rice) miui Edited September 20, 2013 by dakok

You can flash the same Miui roms but the V5 has 3G were as the RR has only 2G unless I'm missing something? Same hard ware\screen. Really. Why is it so hard to read a not-so-long page and then think about vowney hardware characteristics & material quality. Extracted from that link: Screen: Taiwan's AU Optronics (Apple's supplier) screen Corning Gorilla Glass 2 Camera: (Samsung) camera sensor area of 1.4ųm, 28mm wide angle, F2.2 Audio: Dirac technology, widely used in BMW, Bentley, Rolls-Royce car stereo systems Bluetooth 4.0 Compass etc... BTW, folks from Xiaomi made MIUI OS... TD version - yeah, thats the problem, but WCDMA is coming soon. (and it wasn`t the subject here - you stated that the hardware is same)

(and it wasn`t the subject here - you stated that the hardware is same) I saw all that but I've used GGlass and it isn't that good. BT 4.0 was good when it came out in 2011 I use wireless for everything. Yes the camera does look interesting But the main hardware is the same other than 1.5 vs 1.2. To me it's not worth the extra the good Chinese resellers are asking for it i.e MM want £156!!!!
Guest dakok
That`s another story. Huge demands made the price going up. Not only resellers. Hongmi price is much above 80 pounds in China, too. BTW, nice to know that both hongmi and vowney have a compass. :)
