ET100 / T45E / ISA ET100 4.5" MTK6589 phone

Being an unknown brand, ET100 is not a very popular buy so I decided to make a short review

and upload some basic stuff to make life easier for potential buyer or new owner.

 

Phone is bought at Focalprice store while having 9% discount.

Together with aud->usd conversion (which is not favorable now) it turned out

to be $120 or 75 GBP.

Now it can be found at $130 - $140

 

It travelled by China airmail for 16 days + 10 days hold at croatian customs ($30 :().

Package is stuffed as usual except for earphones and mains EU adapter.

Screen protector was correctly set, except for 2-3 bubbles.

I couldn´t glide on it with ease, so I pealed it off. :)

Build quality is good, no squeeks while pressing back cover, no flexing and screen distortion while hard pressing on screen. 

 

Viewing angles and screen brightness (click on image to enlarge):

From left: ZTE v987, ET100, Huawei G300 - Screen is set to max brightness for all 3 phones.

ET100 screen is very bright with nice looking colors. Viewing angles are very good.

Impressions:

 

Phone feels very light in hand. Back cover plastic is good, doesn`t seem to attract grease.

Screen is briliant, not a bit worse than ZTE v987 (which is perfect).

I found a mild shadow in screen lower bottom left side.

Doesn`t bother much, though. You can´t notice it except for when screen is white and even then it is not very noticeable.

I used universal adb driver with eroot tool and it worked fine on win7 64bit PC.

 

Later, when trying to make CWM recovery, I had to use PDAnet 64bit driver

(STEP1-64-BIT-ONLY-ADBdriver.exe)

 

I made cwm v5.0.5.4, and installed it thru Mobileuncle tools, but it doesn`t load with vol+ & power button procedure.

Only thru Mobileuncle -> reboot to recovery

 

More than this is beyond my knowledge for now :)

How do you read that Band Mode info? Does it mean that it supports 3G (WCDMA) 1900 Mhz as well as 2100 Mhz?

It`s mobileuncle tools app.

For band support - not sure if that is real, but looks promising so I put a screenshot :).

Do You know if there is anywhere i can get hold on the original rom  for the ET100 ? Made an update i found on et139.com, but now i stuck with a chinese/english phone and a lot of Baidu apps. I did not make a backup before :angry: stupid me.....

 

What i'm looking for is the rom with multilanguage (danish) or maybe an optimized one. Anyone who can help ?

Regarding the phone not booting into CWM, is fast boot enabled?

 

Try taking battery out for a few seconds, then put it back and power on with volume up does it work now?

 

Can always use Gravity Box and enable extended power menu. Reboot to recovery works in here too.

I can`t play much with ET100 since my wife got hold on it and doesn`t want me to change anything :)

For a multilanguage rom - try to find it at focalprice or other stores that sell et100

I know this thread is already kind of old, but yesterday I built my own CWM Recovery with Droid Tools and I finally figured out how to boot into recovery without choosing it from inside the system.

Here you go:

1) Turn phone off. Wait for it to vibrate once (this shows you that shutdown is completed).

2) Take out the akku pack.

3) Connect the phone to your PC using the usb cable.

4) Hold Vol+ and Power. Don't let go until you are in CWM (don't let go when you see the boot logo). Voilá
