Guest Longfellow78 Posted October 1, 2013 Report Posted October 1, 2013 I have been testing some games today, including modern combat 3, dead trigger, offroad legends, and 3d mark ice storm benchmark. Alas the results are not good, I don't know if something was amiss, and I wasn't expecting it to be great, but it was pretty bad. Dead trigger is okay-ish, not smooth but playable, modern combat is pretty jerky. offroad legends (a non-taxing side scrolling game) wasn't smooth, Ice storm runs, but the scores are very weak. Average: 3532, graphics 3080, physics 7094, Test 1 10.2 fps, Test 2 19.5fps, Physics 22.5fps, Demo 20.7fps. Can anyone confirm these scores? I didn't buy this tablet for gaming obviously, and it's around the same as the 2012 Nexus 7, but I was a little disappointed. I think the Mali MP4 gpu is really showing its age. Is an overclock possible?
Guest Shonk Posted October 6, 2013 Report Posted October 6, 2013 should be depends on its stock speed my galaxy note i overclock it from 266 to 400 at the default 1.000v my galaxy s3 lte runs at 533 at 1.075v it may be down to memory bandwidth on the hudl we will have to see once people look into it have tesco released the source?
Guest Shonk Posted October 6, 2013 Report Posted October 6, 2013 (edited) I think its only single channel hence the problems RK3188 28 nm HKMG ARMv7-A Up to 1.8 GHz Quad-core ARM Cortex-A9 Mali-400 MP (Quad core, 533 MHz) LPDDR2, DDR3, DDR3L support, up to 2 GB 2013 Edit yep RK3188 is single channel so it will be a pig at 1440x900 My Note is duel channel Mali MP400 1280x800 My S3 LTE is duel channel Mali MP400 1280x720 its all down to fa memory bandwidth Edited October 6, 2013 by Shonk
Guest Rem1x Posted October 6, 2013 Report Posted October 6, 2013 (edited) I've been messing around with removing bloat, etc. The hudl performed much better in games than I expected. Was playing with the Iron Man game a few nights ago, ran quite nicely. Didn't feel like the game wasn't reacting to my actions. edit: Just tried offroad legends. no stutter at all. Guest Shonk Posted October 6, 2013 Report Posted October 6, 2013 (edited) The gpu is fine the problem is the memory bandwidth to the gpu both of my phones run the same gpu and its great its running in a high resolution 1440x900 with hardly any memory bandwidth Try Nenamark on it S3 LTE 533mhz GPU= 59.9 FPS (Max is 60fps) Note 400mhz GPU= 54 FPS I will be supprised if it pulls much more than 30fps Edited October 6, 2013 by Shonk

Guest Shonk Posted October 6, 2013 Report Posted October 6, 2013 Really? Very supprised at that with only 3.2gb of bandwidth It was Nenamark2 i meant btw Nenamark 1: 57.4 fps Nenamark 2: 54.7 fps

I think when we start overclocking and getting custom roms built, the hudl is going to be a bit of a cut price star.
