caller id lag

Sometimes, when i receive a call, caller name doesn't display (of course caller is in my contacts). After many tests, it seems that my phone is out of memory (oom) and kills contact app (or process.android.core).

After many hours of searching in forums, i tried many "solutions" :

- [MOD] that fix caller id lag for g300 http://www.modaco.com/topic/361307-mod-fix-the-caller-id-lag-updated/

- pimp my rom to lock contact app, and tweak oom settings

- modify build.prop to keep contact in memory

- change oom priority of contact process (with auto memory manager)

- disable contacts sync

- change google account with less contacts number

...

I tried many custom roms (stock+, slim, slim bean, cm9, cm10.1, cm10.2,...) but they all have this issue (when to many apps launched, caller id is not displayed)

It seems that g300 haven't enough ram, but i don't think all user have this problem ?

This is a very common problem with some ROMs.

I don't think it happens with GB stock/stock based ROMs though?

There are various tips and tricks for mitigating or solving this problem as you have discovered.

Not sure what else there is to say on the matter as it has been raised lots of times already...

I tried rom on GB (slim v7, atomic mod) and the problem don't seem to be present. For other reasons, i choose to use a rom on ICS or JB, but i didn't find a rom without this problem.

I think it's present in all non GB ROMs and it affects some setups/people more than others.

I'm not aware of any pattern other than that unfortunately.

Yes i install another app (ex dialer), but it doesn't change anything.
