Guest glossywhite Posted October 8, 2013 Report Posted October 8, 2013 I know this is normal, expected behaviour, but I want to find a solution (and please - don't tell me to get a TV - I have a perfectly good pair of DVI monitors :)) I just bought a micro HDMI to HDMI cable, and I plugged it into my HP monitor via an HDMI to DVI converter... but, as expected, NO SOUND (the monitor doesn't have sound as a feature, btw). Apart from an app which fails to do what it says it does - "SoundAbout" - does anyone know how I enable analogue, speaker audio, whilst sending mirroring over HDMI?Please don't give guesswork replies; with respect, I can guess things myself, as a hacker and electronic technician - only post if you have a solution which is viable and provable. Thank you :)
Guest orangezorki Posted October 8, 2013 Report Posted October 8, 2013 I'm sure you know much more about this, but surely the first thing to make sure is that the HDMI is actually outputting audio as well. Perhaps you can get some access to a AV reciever and see if that outputs the audio. If so, perhaps, a HDMI audio/video splitter would be the solution?

I want audio from the device, not some clunky hanging-off contraption. This should be easy... Thanks anyway - appreciated :) Edited October 8, 2013 by glossywhite
