Screen stays on whilst charging

My OSD has recently began an annoying habit whereby, while the usb cable is plugged in for charging, the screen will intermittently turn on and off.

It is not a faulty USB cable since the same thing happens with several USB cables.

I'm sure this can't be good for the screen.

The only thing I can link this to, is that I recently installed the Words with friends app. I've not yet tried removing it but first wanted to see if anyone else had experienced this problem or what the resolution is.

Uninstalling NoLED fixed the problem.
