Looks good, i can't wait to try it out. :) This may be a really stupid question, but is it possible to flash the actual Android 4.4 Kitkat ROM to the Hudl? I used to know someone with a Sony Xperia X10 Mini Pro; and with root you could upgrade from the 'maximum' Android 2.2 all the way up to Android 4.2.2 just by flashing the new ROM onto the device. Just wondered if it was the same for the Hudl?

Guest PsYcHoKiLLa Posted November 4, 2013 Report Posted November 4, 2013 I did this too after tarting up my Nexus 4 with the 4.4 rom, I've got the "Ok Google" voice activation and everything working on my Hudl :)
Guest glossywhite Posted November 4, 2013 Report Posted November 4, 2013 Maybe you'd all like to vote the thread, if you found it useful? Doesn't take a second, and it's just good manners :) Thanks.

I turned on the mic, but I can't make it work...it ignores me :( lol
Guest PsYcHoKiLLa Posted November 4, 2013 Report Posted November 4, 2013 (edited) Yeah it works, you need to make sure you set the default language to US, it won't work with any other region. You'll know it's going to work if you change your settings go back to the main screen and the search box says "Say OK Google", then it's ready. Edited November 4, 2013 by PsYcHoKiLLa

I changed Google home language to "English... >> US" - nope, not working.
Guest greyrider Posted November 4, 2013 Report Posted November 4, 2013 Try the "Voice Recorder" ap, make sure your mic' works - mine sounds like I'm talking with a mouthful of broken glass and through and very thick sock :o Not a problem as I don't need/want that function anyway, but you never know....

Guest PsYcHoKiLLa Posted November 4, 2013 Report Posted November 4, 2013 (edited) Here's all the files I used (It's not a flashable zip mind ;) ), I've put all the files where they should go on your phone (Back/rename the files already there if you want). Also, check out your sound section, if you see the following (Hotword detection) then you should be good. (That pic is actually from my Nexus 4 though :) ) Download the files as a zip here : https://mega.co.nz/#!EBIBFKpB!FoxEijz50FrcoBlSQXJG3wznJvpkqzbp936w1jk4J14 Edited November 4, 2013 by PsYcHoKiLLa
Guest TescoHudl Posted November 4, 2013 Report Posted November 4, 2013 I had to uninstall the launcher because i was getting chronic lag with it. Anyone else had the same problem?
Guest CashMoney Posted November 4, 2013 Report Posted November 4, 2013 Sorry glossywhite, I'm getting No Such Photos so can't see the pictures. That said, I tried the new launcher a couple of days ago when it first hit the net on the Hudl and while it was nice and quick and easy to use etc ... did the google search bar not overlay your desktop widgets in landscape mode? In my case, when I turn the Hudl to landscape, rather than staying down the right hand side in landscape, the search bar would flip up to the top right as if it was in portrait mode. The rest of the layout was as expected; dock down the left, etc and I assumed this was a logical change for the new launcher but when I added Widgets at the top of the screen, the search bar would overlap them. Portrait, perfectly fine, but not landscape. As I say, I can't see the piccies above, just wondered if anyone else had had this issue with it? I assumed this was just incomplete layout design for tablets that would be updated in the weeks to come.
