Guest seanspotatobusiness Posted December 6, 2013 Report Posted December 6, 2013 I have an app on my phone called Click Counter. On google play it's listed as about 650 KB but according to an app called Clean Master, Click Counter is actually taking up 7.5 MB. Why might there be such a discrepancy?
Guest maniac_mouse Posted December 16, 2013 Report Posted December 16, 2013 The extra space could be all its data/temp files that have accumulated since it was installed.
Guest seanspotatobusiness Posted April 10, 2014 Report Posted April 10, 2014 But all it does is count how many times you tap the screen after which you reset it and start again. It doesn't record the history and even if it did, the file size would surely be tiny.
Guest maniac_mouse Posted April 29, 2014 Report Posted April 29, 2014 If its the free ad supported version, it probably caches downloaded ad data (images, banners, tracking logs etc) so it can display them in-app when your not online. It probably was 650k when you first installed it, but its been gradually generating data in the cache. Cleanmaster detects all this extra stuff. Also, has it updated since you installed it?, most updates tend to be a bit bigger than the old version they replace. If you clear cache and data for the app, does the space the app takes up drop considerably? Hope this helps....
