apply update from sdcard

Hi, Im Thomas and I have a problem. Everytime when I want install clockwork mod from sdcard in recovery it says:

 

--Install /sdcard ...

--OTA update

 

Finding update package...

Opening update package...

Verifying update package..

E:signature verification failed

E:update fail and delete temp files

Formating /cache...

Installation aborted.

 

Can you help me with this please ??

Do you have the stock recovery - does it look like this:

 

If it does, you will have to install CWM recovery. 

Personally, I would install TWRP, as it is easier to use, and it has more features than CWM.

To install CWM, just do this:

Download these drivers, so the phone can communicate with the PC.

Run the program, and choose where to extract it.

Go to, the folder where you have extracted it, press the shift key and right click (not on any file). Then click open command window here.

Turn off your phone. Take out the battery, wait 10 seconds and put it back in.

Now hold volume DOWN and power, at the same time. Wait for 30 seconds, (Keep holding it) and the phone should stay on the 1st logo, for the whole time If it changes, repeat this.

Now plug in your phone to the PC.

Now go to the command window, and type

fastboot devices

it should come up with a line of random text, with the word fastboot at the end.

Then to install TWRP, do this:
